Half Moon Caye Fabulous
Feb 2020
I felt I had arrived on my own deserted island. The frigates and red-footed boobies were soaring overhead while hermit crabs lounged in the shade to greet you. I loved how the entire staff was introduced and allowed to give a bit of their history, allowing me to get to know them as the week progressed.
The weather the first week of Feb was ideal. Thoughout the week I snorkled, sea kayaked, paddle boarded and hiked to my hearts desire. I even took the opportunity daily to do sunrise yoga with the group.
The guides were so informative and each had a different area of expertise so I learned a lot. There was plenty of time to both relax and participate in activities. Finally, the food was spectacular and plenty of it.
Best vacation ever!

An Incredible Place..
Jan 2020
.. and escape from the rest of the world ... we hated having to leave! Great mix of activities and down time .. can snorkel/kayak on your own too .. but we realized we'd rather take advantage of the amazing guides. Food is stellar especially considering it all has to come to the island on same boat as you .. and be prepared in a tiny hut! Beds are amazingly comfortable, facilities are clean. Staff truly makes you feel like family Throw in the Auduban bird colony and the beauty of the atoll/reef - something not to miss!

Good coral and many fish
Jan 2020 • Solo
I dove Lighthouse the 2nd week of January.

We had some weather all week so our viz. was
only about 30 to 40 feet for the week. Water temperature was 81°F, I dove with a 2mm shorty and was a little cool.

All the same, I enjoyed my diving. The reef is in good shape, the fish are plentiful, very friendly and easier to photograph than in many other areas. The nice thing about Lighthouse Reef is that it is a large enough area that if one area is not optimal diving, there are plenty of other sites. The diving is also very easy, even beginners can safely dive here.

I will definitely be back, this is some of my favorite diving in the Caribbean.

Gorgeous, unspoiled reef diving
Jan 2020
Of course we were here for the Great Blue Hole, but we enjoyed the reef diving at Lighthouse Reef Atoll so much. We were preoccupied by Silky Sharks, but there was lots of coral and fish to see as well.

Great Day Trip
Jan 2019 • Solo
I spent a small part of the afternoon here. If given the time to spend the day or week I would go in a heartbeat. There is so so so much to do whether it is relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, kayaking, walking the island, and soaking up the views. This is the best place to get up close and personal with the red footed boobies and frigate birds.

The island is surrounded by the crystal clear turquoise waters but still has some modern conveniences. If looking to get away from the crowds and modern city feel, this is the place. It can almost be your own private island.

Love the Reef!
Feb 2019 • Couples
My husband and I enjoyed an 8 day stay at Lighthouse Reef with Island Expeditions.
The trip itself was well-organized. From the moment we arrived on the Reef, the guides were welcoming and very professional and knowledgeable. We were always given a briefing the night before on the plan for the next day. The schedule of activities were well-paced and gave plenty of time for rest and relaxation in-between. The cooks prepared delicious food everyday, probably some of the best meals we've ever had on a resort. The reef itself is truly a paradise with the glistening turquoise waters.
It has a beautiful local appeal to it vs. the commercialized atmosphere of other resorts.
We would definitely choose this place again, over another all-inclusive resort.

A Wonderful Tropical Adventure with Island Expeditions!
Feb 2019
Booking our 8 day Lighthouse Reed Adventure with Island Expeditions was easy - including help to extend our stay on the mainland. They continued to impress with complete and knowledgable information on everything we needed to know to prepare for then enjoy our stay. We've travelled with many tour operators and this was the first time we received a call from the tour company the day before departure to ask if we had any last minute questions and to wish us a great trip. Well done Island Expeditions!

Our stay at Lighthouse Reef:

- The location is a tropical paradise,
- Tents were well maintained, clean, the beds comfortable - all with a million dollar ocean view,
- The food was fresh, plentiful and absolutely delicious,
- Dining family style with the entire group of 24 was a wonderful way to get to know fellow travellers and share your daily experiences on the reef
- Our Belizean guides were experienced, knowledgeable, always engaging and eager to share a good story and a hearty laugh, and
- The activities (snorkelling, fishing, kayaking, walking tours, etc.) were conducted by the guides with an emphasis on safety, fun and learning.

Our stay on Lighthouse Reef proved to be exactly what we were looking for in a vacation....a beautiful location with just the right amount of interesting activity but not too much to be tiring (hammock surfing is always an option), great people (staff and guests both) and amazing food. All of this in a well organized package by Island Expeditions.

2nd time as good as the first
Feb 2019 • Couples
My first visit I did Glovers Reef and Lighthouse reef and it left me wanting to do it again. This year it was just lighthouse reef. It is still the kind of vacation for me. A good combination of activity and relaxation in a warm environment. Your belizie hosts will become your friends. This is not the usual all inclusive vacation which I find boring. If that is what you want this is not for you. Best snorkelling you will find anywhere. The blue hole just blew me away......,,again.

Extraordinary Experience at Half Moon Cay with Island Expeditions
Feb 2019 • Friends
The turquoise waters glisten in the sun, Above the waving palm trees, frigate birds and red footed fill the skies. The iguanas and hermit crabs scurry across the trails. The dining tent beckons us with delicious local cuisine. Our tent cabana beckons us....... and we have only just arrived at this Island paradise. For 4 glorious days, we kayak, sail kayak, snorkel right off the beach plus go to the Blue Hole, night snorkel with our own flashlight, fish for barracuda and interact with the best group of knowledgeable, friendly, competent guides ever. What a fantastic holiday!
