How to describe this place: a piece of heaven! Amazing panorama, wine yard all around. Full tour of the cellar, explanation of the production techniques. 4 glasses of super red wine with local cheese per 10 euros. Amazing garden where is possible to enjoy wine and sun as long as you want. If you are looking for a relaxing afternoon tasting some wine in a superb ambient this is the right place

We traveled to La Gatta from Bellano, where my wife, two small daughters and I were on staying on vacation. The ride from Bellano is a little over an hour through very scenic countryside. Finding La Gatta required GPS, tucked up on the edge of the mountain through a few narrow roadways. The facility is very clean and modern, despite having a very colorful and long history in the region. We were met by a tall Swiss gentleman (I never like putting names in reviews, but you know who you are!). He was such a gracious host for our visit, spoke very good English and knowledgeable about both the property itself as well the family. Our tour began at the main house, winding up several tiers of the vineyard and across the back of the upper hillside. On the way, our guide would stop periodically and allow our youngest to sample grapes directly off the vine! Once back at the house, he gave a tour of the inside, explaining the history and culture of the region. After visiting the cellar, we eventually made it to the tasting room. While eating locally sourced cheeses, my wife and I tried every varied offered by La Gatta, learning the history and discussing the varying production methods of each. Externally, La Gatta has a very peaceful sitting area under the shade, where you can enjoy a bottle while overlooking the fields. It was also a wonderful place for my little ones to run around. My best memories of La Gatta is not the wine or the scenery, though both were excellent, but our wonderful Swiss tour guide. He's the reason why we recommend La Gatta!

I thought I knew the best places in this area , where I grow up before to move in USA 10 yrs ago ..... until i had a dinner at la Gatta ! Tenuta la Gatta is a gem ( a perfect mix of Swiss organization and Italian hospitality ) . Located in a fabulous building ( a former 1500 AC convent) perfectly restored in a unique area between grapes. You could visit "le canitne" where they store for aging their fabulous wine and the Triacca people hospitality is second to none. Sonia Savio is a impressive manager able to provide you detailed wine technical and historical information. Indeed this is a kind of address you would like to keep for yourself to impress your guests .......The access is limited please do not try to get there without booking in advance if you like to drink and eat. Best time to visit from May to September . Two thumps up !
