Impressive start of walking tour with monastery
Oct 2020 • Couples
If you enter the valley, the start is impressive with a small corridor between the rocks and after that, the old monastery. We went for a walking tour, but we’re surprised by the number of people visiting the valley. Perhaps this was due to the fact it was a Sunday. As a consequence, there was a lot of noice in the valley.

Our destination was the Bocca Dei Valloni. But we were disappointed by the fact you never see indications of time or distance to go to your destination. We heard something happened in the valley and they have now a lack of volunteers for the organisation of the valley. Perhaps this is the reason why there aren’t any time or distance indications towards your destination.

So, unfortunately, we think we never arrived at the Bocca Dei Valloni :-( But we had some great views :-)

We tried to access the path but it's closed after the accident in June. We didn't checked the status booked the room thinking everything will be fine.
I'm sure the place is gorgeous to visit but there's no access at the time

Amazing, was not expecting it

Beautiful old monastery in order to get there you need to go though narrow mountain passes with so many picture opportunities. Really beautiful place, you can enjoy as well 18 miles hike with amazing views.

Out-standing

You must see this natural wonder... the Gole is so narrow at points you can touch both sides with out-stretched arms... once you are through the narrow part, you come to the ruins of the monastery and some of the best scenery you will ever see in your life!! Top tip...take a picnic and dine in a cave for free!!!

Amazing views from mountain to waterfalls
Jul 2015 • Couples
We stayed with relatives nearby and had to visit Fara San Martino on a daily basis. The waterfalls were amazing and the mountain was even more amazing. The water was so cold and it cooled us down instantly. We also would fill our water bottles with the cold mineral water flowing from the mountain. We also spent an evening at the waterfalls having a picnic which was great and another evening witnessing hikers climb down the mountain in the evening which was a spectacular event. It is truly an amazing place to visit.

Loved the location, the comfort and cleansiness and the welcoming atmosphere. Found the stairs challenging.

Very easy hike to the entrance of the gorge. Once inside. the experience is breathtaking! The two mountains can be touched by opening ones arms, Once at the other end, the monastery is close by and very beautiful.
I will go again, and again, and again!

Very good and surprising. Go with a guide
Aug 2014 • Family
Quite impressive entrance, and surprising discovery of the monastery. Go with a guide (info in front of the "municipio"): for 10€ you'll get a lot more out of the visit and she'll be able to get you inside the monastery and explain its history.
