Delightful, peaceful and tranquil mountain lake. Formed after a landslide, the lake is a pleasant place to pass a couple of hours. A walk around the whole lake probably takes about one hour. However, although most of the paths are fairly flat there is quite a steep slope, with slightly precipitous steps, on a small part of one side. Everything is well maintained with helpful information points that explain the history of the lake and the flora and fauna you may encounter. If you want a little refreshment here, Bar Gelateria La Spiaggetta, Via dei Mulini, Castel dell'Alpi, on the southern tip was very good value for coffee and homemade ice cream.

It's been a while since I've been around here and I'm glad to finally see the lakefront and the car park fixed. There is even a fountain (now nowhere to be found). There are benches and games for children. However, services are still few. You can still spend a peaceful day here.
