Alberto (Jesus) works out of Punta Laguna and has a whole list of suggestions and things to do in the area . He is a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable; he speaks Mayan, Spanish, English and French. He grew up in the village but has a degree from Valladolid University and is licensed as a guide. We have been to see the monkeys at Punta Laguna twice where he was our guide. This time we wanted to do something different. We chose the Gastronomic Experience. Apparently we were the first ones to get to do this. I was very excited!! Jesus picked us up from Aldea Coba and took us to his village where he introduced us to Enrique, wife Blanka and his family. Enrique was ready to show us his organic garden and teach us howsw to cook Pollo Pibil. Pibil means cooked in the ground. This is how Mayans have cooked for centuries. I was soooo excited!! I’m a foodie and I have made Pibil before but I used an oven, This process of cooking in the ground is amazing. It is very labor intensive but Enrique did it with love. We were able to be totally involved, helping with the fire, the pit, the marinating of the chicken and I even learned how to make tortillas. While the chicken was cooking, Jesus took us a very cool bug museum with a very interesting story about how all these bugs came to be. Some back as far back as 1975. After the chicken was done we went to Enrique’s house and had the most wonderful dinner with his family! The children were so sweet and helpful. We had Mayan Hummus as a starter, Pollo Pibil, rice, beans, potatoes, tortillas and finished off the meal with roasted pumpkin. It was amazingly delicious, cooked with love. We were stuffed. Then on to a place where we learned about the conservation of some of the local animals and their efforts to preserve them. At the end we visited a cenote that only the locals know about. What an awesome way to spend my birthday! I would highly recommend Eco Mayan Adventures! So many things to do in the Coba area!

Jesus’ tour has been one of the highlights of our trip around the Yucatan and Quintana Roo. He did a fantastic job organising everything and was a very knowledgable guide. We did the wildlife tour at Punta Laguna and we’d really recommend it to anyone who loves nature and animals. We got to see howler monkeys, beautiful birds and had a great walk through the jungle with Jesus and his uncle Augusto. We then went for a swim in a beautiful local cenote, which we had all to ourselves - it was well off the beaten track and we’d never have found it otherwise. And we got to see the garden and kitchen of Enrique, who was a very fun and welcoming host for lunch.
Jesus is a great guide and it was wonderful to have him taking photos as we could concentrate on enjoying every moment. It was also great to learn about Mayan culture and language from him and his family, and it has come in handy in other places! Thanks again Jesus. Yuum bo’o tik!

We had a fantastic day tour with Bernardo from Eco Mayan Adventures. Jesus worked with me by email to coordinate a private tour for my family. The itinerary was perfect, and we had such a great day. We had two young children, two adults, and two grandparents with us. Bernardo provided so much information about the culture and a lot of background, and made everything so seamlessly easy for us all day. We visited Coba, then went swimming at a cenote, followed by lunch at a very small family run establishment, and lastly visited Punta Laguna to see monkeys! We so appreciated the details about Mayan life and loved supporting the communities that are guide and driver are a part of. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone coming to the Yucatan. I did so much research to find a tour that would be enjoyable for an age range of 7 to 77 in our group, and this one checked all the boxes. Our driver was efficient and so patient with us, and we never felt rushed by Bernardo even once the entire day. Thanks to Eco-Mayan Adventures for an amazingly memorable day for all.

We had an absolutely amazing day with Rene and Jesus touring Coba and Punta Laguna reserve. René was very knowledgeable and engaging regarding the beautiful site of Coba. Then they took us to a beautiful cenote where we were the only ones swimming there. We had an incredibly delicious lunch with Enrique and got to see his beautiful organic garden and learn about Mayan culture. Finally we got to the gorgeous site of Punta Laguna reserve. We saw many families of spider monkeys eating and playing in the trees and we even got to see a family of howler monkeys. Finally we had a thrilling zip line experience across the lake. My whole family ranged from 78 to 4 years old. Everyone had a fantastic time. My 15 year old nephew said it was the best day of his life in the past 5 years. Rene and Jesus were incredibly engaging and kind. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in Mayan history, culture and nature. We would definitely go in another trip with them

We travelled to the Yutican for our honeymoon. Jesus had been speaking to me a lot prior to arriving on WhatsApp to make sure he could make the best experience for us that we would enjoy. The two main things for us was to learn about the Coba ruins and hopefully see some monkeys. The whole day was incredible and is certainly a day we will never forget. Barnardo taught us so much about the Coba ruins and a lot of local mayan information which you would not get from other guides. Jesus and Barnardo taught us some of the mayan language which we tried to use the rest of our holiday. We were so excited to learn about the mayan culture and met a local family, who very kindly took us into their home and made us lunch and showed us how to make tortillas.
They took us to a beautiful remote cenote which we had to ourselves for a little while. We enjoyed snorkelling and watching the bats flying around in the cave.
A xaman performed a ceremony for us before we entered the Punta laguna nature reserve where Jesus and Barnardo found us a group of howler monkeys and spider monkeys! Hearing the howler monkeys calling when we left the jungle was a moment we will remember forever. Ziplining and kayaking was also included. The day was fun and educational throughout. Jesus and Barnardo were such lovely guides and we feel we have made mayan friends we hope to stay in touch with. I would very much recommend this trip to anyone really hoping to experience a true taste of the mayan culture.
Yuum bo'otik Jesus and Barnardo! We hope to see you again one day

This was our first time to the area, and we were guided by two knowledgeable and very friendly guides. They took us through the Mayan ruins, on a tour in Punta Laguna, met a real Mayan Shaman, who performed a blessing, and ate with a local family. If you are looking for an authentic and non-touristy adventure, this is for you!

I want to start by saying a wholehearted thank you for everything. We had an absolutely wonderful day discovering Chichen Itza, then swimming in a beautiful cenote and finally exploring the city of Valladolid. Jesus and Bernardo (our tour guides for the day) were very knowledgeable and also genuinely kind, friendly and good-hearted people. We felt very quickly at ease, as if we were touring with friends. They also offered a valuable insight of the Mayan perspective and way of life. They also taught us a lot about the history of Chichen Itza, the Mayan calendar, and the wildlife of the Yucatán. We particularly appreciated their respectful approach towards nature, other cultures and all living things.
The tour was very personalized and our guides adapted to our needs as the day unfolded. We had a little incident at Chichen Itza where my daughter lost her phone but in the end there was no need for concern as Jesus and Bernardo were an immense help and went out of their way to help us retrieve it.Thanks to them, this unexpected adventure had a happy ending! Thank you so much again, your kindness and persistence saved the day and made it the best ever!

We had a great time at Punta Laguna with our Tourguide Jesús! He really took his time and showed us everything in detail, he made the experience a lifelong souvenir for us!
We are very interested in animals and nature. Jesús shares the same passion and it is a joy to hear all the storys from an authentic Guide from the very same area! He was born and raised on the same village and knows everything you need to know.
Our Tour included a nice long hike in the jungle, a kajaktrip over the lake, a swim in the most wonderful and private cenote that you will ever see and a meal in a sustainable mayan village/family.
We definately recommend this trip to everybody that loves animals, nature and cultural experiences in general.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Jesus and his company!! This was by far our favorite experience during our week in Quintana Roo. Jesus met us at Punta Laguna to hike in the jungle looking for howler and spider monkeys. He was incredibly knowledgeable on all of the plants and animals there. He explained that his grandparents were the founders of this nature preserve, and he and his cousins grew up running around in the jungle as their own playground. He even pointed out deep in the jungle the remains of what was once his grandparent’s home. His father and uncle are biologists, and he went to university for languages. He speaks English, Spanish, Maya, French and currently learning German. He lives just a few hundred yards from the reserve entrance. He only left his village for university and came back because he loves the Maya community and culture, the peaceful way of life.
Next he took us to a family friend’s home, another hike through the jungle, where we were welcomed by a Maya family still living in the traditional way. They have no electricity or running water. More recently they got solar panels to help keep the jaguars away at night, that were preying on their dogs, chickens and goats.
This family cooked a delicious and beautiful meal for us. Everything we had was farmed and cultivated from their lands. We got a tour and were able to attempt to make our own handmade tortillas, see how they collect their water from their cenote well, and see their bee hives. This was such an intimate and educational experience. It is clear that Jesus and this family are so proud of their culture and heritage and after experience it first hand, it is easy to see why. This was a peaceful and awe inspiring way of life, something that has inspired me to purposefully slow down my own life when we return to the states.
Jesus really made our full day experience personalized, educational, fun, exciting, and always answered all of our questions without judgement.
He is currently working on how to bring more awareness and support to the Maya villages and I cannot wait to help be a part of this meaningful cause.
Jesus and his company conduct many personalized tours, and if something you’re looking for is not listed on his website, reach out and see if he’s available anyway.
When we come back to Mexico, we are 100% booking with Jesus for all of our tours!!

Guys this is an amazing experience. I did the whole day tour with Jesus and it was an the best part of my trip. He knows the jungle and monkeys living in it better than any tour guide you meet and is more than happy to wander around and point out beautiful trees and animals. It is a small business he started to share his Mayan heritage and wonders of the jungle they protect.
This is one of those gems that is so hard to find in an area so saturated with tourist companies. If you have the time I recommend doing a full day nature walk and Mayan adventure.
I did it with just my wife and I which was great but we could have probably added another couple of people to cut down on cost.
