Grottoes in this hillside yielded some of the most beautiful pre-Angkorian statuary ever found. Some is at the National Museum in Phnom Penh. Well worth a visit!

If you want to go where very few others venture, then try here and you won't be disappointed. Apparently most tourists stop at the ruins of Angkor Borei and don't bother making the extra 20km to Phnom Da, that's their mistake! For starters, the extra...More

Well worth the visit if you are already out and about in Takeo. A gem of a find. The dissapointing thing was that it was a trash dump. Plastic, styrophome, wrappers and bottles everywhere including inside the actual building. An absolute mess. Sadly so typical...More

Full with locals. But the tourist pays 3 dollar. When you walk there they are waiting for you to pay. More more more dollars. We took the boat from takeo. Cost us 33 dollar but with al the extras you pay 40 or 45 dollar.

The boat ride which took us 50 minutes in a fast boat each way across flooded areas and an ancient canal is absolutely enjoyable. Something off the beaten tourist track. You get a glimpse of the real, rural Cambodia.

Phnom Da is a pre-Angkor temple in Takeo province. It is an easy day trip from Phnom Penh and quite an easy drive through scenic rural Cambodia. The temple itself is in ruins and not much is left except the outer shell structure, but the...More

Must-see if you are around in Takeo or good day trip from Phnom Penh. Pre-Angkorian temple set in a beautiful little hill surrounded by lush vegetation and a bit of much-needed peace and quiet. Ruins are not free for non-Cambodians (1 USD pp, I think),...More

It is really worthly to take one of the small boats in Takeo and navigate to this loney temple uphill in a tiny rural village. One of the oportunities to visit a khmer monument out of the tourist mass of Angkor
