We enjoyed visiting the Big Buddha. The effort that's gone into building it is nothing short of amazing, and it's all been done through donations too - so that's a feat in itself! While still very much a work in progress, it's a great place...More

You have a wonderful view over the island and the ocean and the big buddha is really impressive. I recommend you to rent a scooter (only 200baht a day) and enjoy the ride up the hill.

Wow Wow Wow - this place was fantastic beyond belief. Our personal driver in Surin organised our tickets. We were terribly spoilt with a scrumptious dinner in the "Silver Room". The "Gold Room" is the seafood buffet and the "Red Room" is a huge dining...More

This Buddha is truly impressive. There is still work being done on the lower area around the Buddha and on part of the steps, but that doesn't detract from its awesomeness. Even with some marine layer on the day we were there, the views from...More

Even though its still under construction, it's a "working" temple where you are able to observe priests during their prayer times and join in if you wish. Clearly something of this scale requires a lot of money, so there are many opportunities to buy souvenirs...More

To find myself at this world site, exceeded my expectations! The feeling of intense peace cannot be described. I saw a real monk and the experience humbled me. Everyone should go once in their lifetime as the atmosphere there is healing (mind, body and soul).

Up on the mount overlooking the whole of Phuket sits the Big Buddha, its a holy place that's still under construction and you can be a part of it ! Great tribute to the peaceful one.

There are no buses that will take you directly to Big Buddha. It's a 40 min trip from Patong so I would recommend. Private taxi and then take in a few other sites . Taxi will be the cheapest in the long run Big Buddha is... More

It'll be a long hike up, and then coming down too. However the path is easy to follow and it's clear. If you are going to hike up there leave plenty of time to get back down so that your not on the path in the dark. When we... More
