I wanted to take the kids to experience a cultural site at our recent visit at Thailand. A driver took us to the Big Buddha and gave us time to explore. It is an amazing site and the scale or the monument is truly amazing - a must see. Although there are lots of things to buy and donate to... More

Nice views from the top. Not really the most memorable thing I did in Thailand. Nothing to do there.

Nothing special here. Even the views aren't as great as advertised. It could be worth your time if you're around the area. But definitely don't make the trip here from Patong like I did.

Big Buddha is big WOW. It's really impressive - even thou it is still on going work. You can go inside the monument (it is empty inside) and pray or mediate with monks there.

We visited the big buddha in March 2017 and enjoyed the view. You could see many different beaches from the top. The buddha is massive!

Quite a mission to get to the Big Budha - we were on a rented scooter so it was quite fun. The history of the construction is very interesting, but it occurred to us that all the collections go towards the local residents living expenses as there is not much construction taking place or has done foe many years. Interesting... More

This was absolutely amazing. We purchased a tile that will be used in the construction and we wrote a message on there. We also got blessed by the Buddhist monks which I will never forget. Amazing experience that I will never forget and nice to know our tile will be there for ever.

View over Phuket town is pretty cool other than that not much to see. It takes some time to get up there and the buddha itself is really big but that's about it. Don't forget to take long clothes as a woman. Closes at 6pm

They just keep building the surrounds to the big Buddha, they must make a fortune from selling the marble tiles.
