I took my Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses with Kiwi Divers across Christmas 2021 and definitely made the right choice! Kiwi divers responded very promptly to our initial enquiry and were very accommodating for both myself and my partner; who was already open water certified but was looking to complete the advanced open water course.

Our instructor Charles was fantastic from start to finish, his experience and approach really set me at ease throughout, spending extra time ensuring that I had a strong understanding of how to set up/break down kit, manage buoyancy and plan dives safely.

The dive boats tended to be larger in size due to the distance of the dive sites from mainline Phuket. Being a beginner diver, this made me slightly apprehensive however Charles quickly put me at ease, spending time with us before each dive talking through what to expect for each site, as well as giving us a good heads up for getting ready ahead of the crowds. Across 4 days we completed x1 pool training session, x4 open water dives and x5 advanced water dives around Racha, Shark Point, Phi Phi and King Cruiser Wreck.

Charles was very flexible throughout allowing my partner to sit in on the pool session as a re-fresher and also use his under-water camera to ensure we could capture lasting memories!

While Kiwi diver is probably more commonly known for their tech diver specialisms, we would strongly recommend them for recreational diving or training certifications. This was without doubt the highlight of our trip to Phuket! Thank you again

As a family of three (including one Junior PADI), we did the Phi Phi Islands dive trip with Kiwidiver and it was awesome. It included three dive sites: two at Koh Phi Phi and one at Shark Point (on our way back). We were picked up at our hotel in Karon at 7:30 am and taken directly to a comfortable boat (gear fitting done a day before), shared with other diving companies (32 people altogether). We were provided with delicious breakfast, lunch and snacks on board. It took 3 hours to get to Koh Phi Phi, so we had plenty of time to discuss our diving plans.
Our dive master was Dominic Robnik - a young guy with impressive professional experience in diving. Although he seemed to be overqualified for the job of just looking after amateur tourist divers, he was so passionate about diving, underwater fauna, technical diving and underwater photography. We had an amazing and fun time with Dominic. He also shot lots of high-quality, professionally-looking pictures of us diving, so we took our fantastic memories with us back home.
We highly recommend Kiwidiver Dive Centre with their super friendly, safe and professional team!

Charles was the best diving teacher and instructor one can wish for. I started my Open Water course really scared and unsure if diving was for me. But Charles was incredibly patient with me, answering all my questions in detail and made me feel safe and confident to try my first ever dive. His calmness and patience helped me stay relaxed. He knows the area really well and what species to look out for at each dive site. He knows how to get away from other divers, finding our own routes which is why we got lucky to see sharks, leopard sharks, cuttle fish, sea horses and turtles. But each dive was special as Charles finds and points out even the smallest shrimp in their holes. I had such a great time I booked another dive the week after finishing my course.

My brother and I arrived in Phuket and decided on short notice to take an Open Water Course. All dive shops turned us down for short notice, however, Charles at Kiwi Diver made it happen! As we learned to dive, Charles was meticulous with the training, yet he made diving fun and not too technical! As I honed my skills, I became more confident and explored divergent dive sites.

If you're in Phuket and thinking about taking a dive, Kiwi Diver is your place. The prices might be a little higher than other dive shops, but the divemaster here has over 9,000 dives under his belt, which translates to a fantastic learning experience.

Vincent was my dive leader and would highly recommend diving with him again. It also helped that I knew him since 2012 when I did some of my PADI certifications with him at Kiwi so fortunately he was available. My safety was his priority, everything from ensuring the gear was prepped properly to doing buddy checks before each dive. I will always choose to have him as my dive leader as he makes sure I have an enjoyable experience. We dove King Cruiser, Shark Point, and Koh Doc Mai. Highlight of the trip was seeing two leopard sharks!!! I’ve dove in Phuket for over 10 years and finally got to see the leopard shark in the wild.

I did the Tec 40 course with Vincent. A very professional and skilled instructor, he offered to stay late in the evenings to make sure that I fully understood all the lessons taught during the course and to provide me with the tools and knowledge needed to safely progress into the world of technical diving. I would definitely recommend the instructor and school to anyone wishing to dive in Phuket.

Had a great dive with Vincent Moy at Kiwi Divers, he showed us around three dive sites the car ferry and two others, I unfortunately can't recall the proper names. I have been diving for many years and am a highly qualified dive instructor myself and at first was a little put off by the idea of being led around the dive sites, however Vincent gave a dive brief that puts mine to shame, his passion for the aquatic life and environment is remarkable. I would be happy to dive again with him and Kiwi Divers. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 is due to poor viz, we saw lots of fish and had amazing dives but the viz was pretty crap from what I was hoping to find plus I was looking for a quiet dive excursion with only a few people and didn't realize that all the dive companies pool together and use a handful of boats so even if you think you're with a small company you'll be placed on a big boat with numerous other dive companies all fighting to get on the site first which takes away from the small feel of things. This is just how it's done in Phuket and that's ok I just didn't know going in is all.

Hi Chris Thank you for your review. The dive sites you dived were King Cruiser Wreck, Shark Point and Anemone reef. Vincent is one of the most professional dive instructors in Phuket and extremely knowledgeable on the local marine life. We look forward to you diving with us again. I am sorry the day you dived the viability was not to your expectations. As an experienced instructor I am sure you understand that the weather and visibility are beyond our control. Around full moon there is always a lot more water movement and therefore lower visibility. If you discuss the tide tables with us before your next trip we can show you the days of the month most likely to get better viability.

The centre caters for all from tourist to Technical Diver; establishment has air conditioned training class rooms with wi fi to hire equipment with scuba diving learning programs. For class room pool training the pool 100m away and centre helps with transport. At all times the centre staff looks after the client from pickup to drop off. Always nice having personal attention.

I did 4 days of diving with kiwi. I did my dives with Vincent. I felt great with the dive shop from the beginning. Friendly people, good equipment and helpful. Vincent was a great dive guide; very patient, knowledgeable, and an eye like a hawk. He spotted everything. Saw micro and macro. Leopard shark was the highlight! Can’t recommend these guys enough! See you again soon!

I had an amazing experience with Kiwidiver dive centre right from first contact via email from new zealand right through till when Kevin picked us up and dropped us back to our accommodation!
The diving was amazing and that was helped by the fact that Kevin is a true dive professional that knows his stuff, very informative about the diving around phuket and also local culture.
I would recommend any person who dives or is interested in scuba and is heading to Phuket to contact Kiwidiver dive centre or check the website kiwidiver.com and get a hold of Kevin.
