After reading the wonders of cap frehel, it was a disappointment. In reality the view is beautiful, but I was expecting a wild place with rough seas. There are much nicer capes in France.
It is the starting point for several walks along the coast, which is why it is so popular. The lighthouse is just a lighthouse. The car park is paid, but the payment machines are a real nightmare.Very dificult to use. Giant lines to pay. That's why I gave up.
Beautiful place but nothing special

Like every year, last holidays, I went to Brittany in France. The city where I always go is Saint-Cast le Guildo. We rented an appartement just in front of the beach of Pen Guen, it's a beach from 1km long, she's less long than the other one which is near the center of the city. From the window of the appartement we saw the see, the boats, the tourists,...
In the center of the city there are a lot of differents littles shops, excellent restaurants, the best bakery/pâtisserie of the world (the croissants are incredible, don't be scared about your weight!!) the name is ''La Belle Meunière''. There is also the best ice on earth in this little city (Chez Tinou).
The city is situated near St-Malo, it's a city you MUST go if you go in Brittany. You could also go to the Mont-St-Michel, it's further than St-Malo but it's worth it.
In St-Cast there are 2 or 3 stables, you can do a walk on the beach with horses and you can even swin with them!! You can't miss it, it's one of the best things I've done in my whole life.
The other thing that you can't absolutely miss is the Cap Frehel. It's a lighthouse in the Brittany moors, the landscape takes your breath away...I don't say more, you must see by yourself.
In conclusion, St-Cast is THE city for your holidays, you can't dream about a better place and there are not a lot of tourists like in St-Malo, it's just perfect. I spend my best holidays there.

The place is amazing but we highly recommend the hiking path from Cap Frehel to Fort La Latte. The landscape is amazing with flowers, Sea and cliffs...you will remember it for a long time!

We hired electric bikes and rode through the countryside till we reached the headland. We were stunned by the colour of the sand and sea and loved seeing all the birds!

Worth a visit beautiful view of scenic Brittany and a lighthouse which offers a nice view. Unfortunately this place is well known and often crowded by tourists. Go early if you want to enjoy the surroundings.

You're not going to go there by accident - its on the tip of a jutty-outy (there is no doubt a geographical term) bit and it's a drive / cycle from anywhere. It's worth it. 1. You can walk the dog off the lead 2. The views are amazing 3. Paths are clearly defined and well maintained - but the cliffs are BIG. Might be worth keeping a particularly lively dog on the lead on some bits. 4. You can walk up to the top of the lighthouse for 2€ which as a bargain loads of parking - nice destination.

We stopped here on the northern coast of Brittany to walk to and view this beautiful peninsula. Our guide book said there was a charge for parking, but as it was a Sunday it was free. It was a short walk to the outermost point of the peninsula. There were gorgeous views in every direction. Lots of people were hiking up and down some of the cliffs. Worthwhile if you're in the area.

At Cap Fretel three was a lighthouse, which was open at 1430 (no good for us). There was no snack bar. Beside the current one, there was an old lighthouse and a further one right out at the Point. Three was a good view towards Paimpol on one side and beyond St Malo on the other.

Outstanding nature.
Great view.
Biological interesting.
My parents, who have been all over the world, named it one of the most beautyfull places in the world.
Dont miss it!
When you go back notice the signs on the sales of calvados, pommeau and cidre. It is really worth to follow the signs.
Good trip.

There are many beautiful spots along the Côte d'Émeraude - there are spectacular views at every turn! And yes, the views at Cap Frehel are great, too. But there is not much else there. The lighthouse is nothing special.

You get the same fantastic views if you stop instead at neighbouring Fort La Latte - with the lighthouse of Cap Frehel in the background. And an interesting medieval castle to explore on top.
