Birds of Eden is part of the South African Animal Sanctuary Alliance (SAASA). Birds of Eden is the largest single-dome free flight aviary in the world, spanning 2.3 hectares of natural forests, streams and dams. With over a kilometre of walkways, visitors can experience the thrill of spotting almost 3500 previously captive birds of over 200 different species flying free and living natural lives. The scenery alone warrants a visit with hundreds of different plant and tree species plus there are giant fruit bats, golden-handed tamarins and the smallest of the antelopes, Blue duikers. Visits to Birds of Eden are self-guided and you are free to wander for as long as you wish at your own pace. Guided tours for group bookings can also be arranged on request at no additional cost.

Birds of Eden entrance is best bought with Monkeyland and Jakani but this is the place where you may want to spend the longest time. There are plenty of different birds to see and photograph. The area is massive and does not feel like an...More

This is an interesting place to spend an hour or two, evidently 'the World's biggest free flight aviary'. We were lucky to have a guide come round with us to explain each of the birds and spot the more elusive ones. I am never too...More

Had a great experience here viewing a lot of birds that we have not been able to see in the wild yet! Sometimes a bit busy but very nice to visit if you love birds!

Massive aviary , feels like you are not enclosed with a net as its so high up, didn't see as many birds as we hoped but that's the beauty of the wild.

Visited Birds of Eden on a drizzly day but it was great despite the weather. So many different and wonderful species. Their philosophy of saving birds from previous cruel or misguided ownership is refreshing. Well worth the entrance fee and well worth combining it with...More

If you are fond of nature, in particular birds, this is a place to visit. There are different kind of birds to watch and see, some are indigenous and some are from other countries. All birds sizes can be seen except for an Ostrich.

A well laid out attraction where the birds feel free and can fly around the people for once. You can get good photos and close ups there, but be patient. A strong recommendation for families with children.
