I went with a friend that had been before and tried the nougat which was delicious , ended up buying the original Nougat for my husband who loves it , it is quite buttery and the almonds have a lovely crunch, way better than any Nougat I have ever had before

Sugar and Spice have the best nougat! It's not too sweet, but taste and smells wonderful. Especially if you buy the toffee flavour... Just the thought of it makes me drool. The packaging looks nice too, so it's the perfect souvenir for loved ones. Their Italian Cheese Sticks are great too!

I have always hated nougat since I was a kid. I never understand why people love the hard candies that are not real hard candy. It was impossible to eat these nougat.
Tangcun's nougat completely changed how I felt about nougat. My friend gave me some years ago, but I didn't try the candy at first. I didn't think it was any different than the ones I had before. My son tried it and fell in love with it. He insisted that I tried. The candy was milky and chewy and the almond added a nice crunch. It was the perfect combination. This is what I always get when I visit Taiwan. I prefer this candy over pineapple shortcake pastries and sun cakes that everyone buys when they visit Taiwan.

The store and its products have changed. It's not like it is anymore in the TripAdvisor photos. All the products are in opaque packages with only text to indicate what's inside. You won't know what it looks like until you buy it. Almost everything sold is either nougat or small Taiwanese-style cakes, once again, all in opaque packets. There's nothing on display or anything for sampling. When you enter the store you get given a price list with all their products on it. On it you can mark the quantity of each item you want to purchase. Again, all text with no pictures. I guess this store might have a loyal customer base but if you're just looking to try something or browse around, this is definitely not the store to go to.
