Very pleasant garden

Lugang Folk Arts Museum, with a very pleasant garden, is an interesting museum. If you have no idea about the ancient society and culture of China, you can get a basis idea in this museum. The building itself and the meeting room on the second floor are also worth seeing.

Peaceful heaven with good collections and great architecture
May 2018 • Couples
Interesting collections of objects and a remarkable model of the city in year 1700. The place is definitely worth a visit for the building and the old house at the back.
The architecture is a pure example of the Meiji style with the typical mix of Western and Asian influences that what developed during the Japanese occupation of the island.

Lovely folk museum

I enjoyed this museum very much, as it gave a good sense of many aspects of historical daily life in Lukang. The building is very large, and they have assembled a good collection of artifacts well to tell various tales of the earlier days. There is a modest admission fee, well worth it.

The only reason I've not given a five-star rating is that, for some unnamed reason, they did not permit me to take photographs inside the museum, and so prevented me from sharing my experience with friends and family back home. I am usually puzzled by such a restriction, which I don't understand. If flash is a problem, they should simply prevent people using a flash. There were very few other people there when I visited, so a few photos would not have hurt anyone. Puzzling and disappointing.

A wonderful museum

The Folk Arts Museum should be on the "must see " list as it is extremely interesting and costs a few dollars for the entrance fee. The museum(opened since 1973) is housed in two separate buildings that are in a beautiful compound just near the town center. The Koo family donated the house and land as well as other benefactors and the museum contains over 6,000 items on display which date from the Qing dynasty. The museum is separated into several sections that display religious, photographs, laquerware, household, dress, travel and recreational objects.

Lukang Folk Arts Museum is used to be the Koo Family’s mansion . The Koo Family is also the top five richest family from 19 century . And there is a lot of collection which includes items such as clothes, jewelry, musical instruments, old photo of Lukang . Is really nice place that you can know more about the Lukang Town. It can be your first stop for your Lukang tour.

Museum of History

Ticket price is cheap at NT130 and you instantly get a NT30 discount at the coffee shop. There is much to learn in this museum especially how people lived in the past. It showed Taiwanese culture on marriage, traditions, culture, and history. Many interesting finds as well.
