This was our introduction to Kaohsiung. A pleasant walk with lots of fascinating things to see on the way round including dragon boat racing on the day we went.

Nice lake that is kept fairly clean. Good 4km loop around the lake with some pretty monuments, temples, surrounded by bars that come alive at night. Not too crowded, lake looks clean enough.

Lotus lake is beautiful and adorned with lots of manmade structures. There’s a nice sidewalk that circles most of the lake and winds through parks to the tiger/dragon pagodas.

We saw no bats, Brooke. Lots of local wakeboarders practicing. And great service from wait staff. Have fun!
