Taipei, as it once was
Jan 2021
Nanyang Street is a typical Taipei neighborhood, it hasn't changed much in over 40 years since I first stepped foot on the island. All Taipei neighborhoods were once like this, until McDonald's and the Colonel arrived. If you don't speak Mandarin, buying something from the many food stalls may seem intimidating but if you want try something, for example the famous Taiwan beef noodles, just point.

Not to miss while in Taipei
Aug 2019
This street and all the surrounding alleys offer a huge array of local style like eateries and all of what one would expect from such an enchanting city and their welcoming people.

So and so
Feb 2019 • Family
Did not find anything special about the place. Nothing really stand out. Street food was Ok. The sausage taste the same and tourch beef meat cubes was tough to chew and swallow. If you are near the area, you may want to see this place.

Nothing special ...
Dec 2018 • Couples
Walked this street many times during our stay in Taipei, (near our hotel) ... it is typical for the neighborhood, but not noteworthy. Architecture is very ugly, and I couldn't find any food places along here for us to eat at. It was fine, but street food in Taipei really didn't do much for us, so ... I'd skip this and get on to the million of sights to see in this amazing city.

Typical Chinese shopping
Apr 2018 • Friends
As a tourist, I would not go looking for this street. There are hundreds just like it all over Taipei, probably one near where you are staying. However if you are in the area, you will find a typical Chinese street, full of Chinese restaurants and shops catering to them. Like a shopping street for locals. Interesting to see, but you will find streets like this all over the city.

Cheap Eat's Heaven.
Feb 2018 • Couples
It's a cheap eat's heaven. This street is known for tutoring classes, so the foods are designed for students with inexpensive and yummy treats. We sometimes go to get the tasty cheap breakfast here instead of eating at the hotel free breakfast nearby. The Egg Omelette pancake and Rice Balls are our favorites. Recommended.

Don't really know why it is a "sightseeing" street
Feb 2018
It is a nice Taipei street, but I don't get exactly why it is singled out as a sightseeing street. There are a number of similar streets, and together they make a great ambiance to the place, a unique feel of a local urban culture.

Fried Dumplings and More!
Aug 2017 • Solo
This is a great little street one block south of Taipei Main Station between Xinyang and Xuchang Street with a wide variety of street stalls and small restaurants and cafes.

I especally liked a small stand (阿仁福州包) across from the Morwing Hotel (i couldn't read the sign) however they sold a small, medium or large order of fried dumplings with a hot sauce. The large was a dozen or so for just a couple bucks $USD.

Really easy to pick up and take back to the hotel late at night.
