The house is located near the Taipei Central station, from the front of the station, it is located a few meters to the right. Walk-able but there may be some areas you have to watch out because pedestrian crossing are not always visible.

Standing at the gate to greet you is a statue of Dr. Sun, the entrance is free but you have to drop by the office for some brochures to guide you regarding the house, its history , and the layout.

You will have to leave your footwear at the entrance of the house to preserve its cleanliness. The house was once the lodging of Dr. Sun you could imagine him still walking down the hallways or pondering in his study about the future of the nation.

The garden has a koi pond and a pavilion. It is so peaceful if not for the surrounding skyscrapers that breaks it old charm.

If you love history. This is one place you should visit in Taipei.

In due respect, the building is respectful and magnificent, the stature of sun yat sen is great. Other than that, nothing really spectacular. The other sun yat sen memorial hall in Singapore by far may still be better than this although It's smaller and not as famous . There are more actual and authentic things found in Singapore's sun yat sen memorial hall. Available in both English and mandarin.

Why are there so Many chanters outside the hall? Strange.

Very serene area with koi ponds (and interesting birds). The memorial house is small and you can view it in just a few minutes. But it's free and worth visiting.

Sun Yat-Sen Memorial House is a historical spot.

In Taipei, there are two places in memory of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the founding father of the Republic of China. Do not get it confused with another place - Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall (at Section 4 of Ren'ai Road), which is a majestic building, a real memorial “hall”.

Sun Yat Sen Memorial House is much smaller, but with more historical meaning. The house is an elegant Japanese style building, formerly the Hotel where Dr. Sun stayed during his 1914 visit to Taiwan. Now it is open to the public which showcases his handwritings, photographs, personal belongings and old furniture.

Dr Sun's house will intrigue anyone interested in the history of modern China. The house has artefacts connected to Sun Yat-sen and and a pleasant garden. Sun Yat-sen is known as the "Guo Fu" or Father of the Nation on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Sun was a medical doctor who devoted his life.to freeing China from 5,000 years of dynastic rule.

The thing people seem to come for, aside from historical lectures, is the changing of the guards, and while it is impressive how detailed and sharp there movements are, I also feel terrible they have to stand still for an hour guarding a statue. It is obviously meaningful though to the crowds that gather to watch, I have never been in such a quiet large crowd, so I am glad they were at least appreciated. The intro room to sun yat-sen is interesting but much of the other art rooms seem not that unique nor related to sun yat-sen.

If you want an introduction to more recent Taiwan history this is a great place to start. Also the changing of the guard is intricate and amazing to watch. Price is right too! 0$. Taiwan is a much nicer place than I anticipated. Have you tried noodles yet? Get out there and don't be afraid to eat some street food. Mmm fresh fries donuts! Thanks Taiwan for being such an awesome place.

In contrast to the nearby Chiang Kai-shek memorial hall, this memorial house dedicated to the founding father is small and simple. You see a bronze statue of a sitting Dr. Sun Yat-sen in the main hall. If you are patient, you can wait for the changing of guards every hour. The two small side halls contain exhibit on the lives and achievements of Dr. Sun. Very simple. Don't expect too much. Some articles are replicas only. But it is a good start to understanding this part of history which is equally significant to both Taiwan and Mainland China. Skip it if you have limited time.
