Breeze Gourmet Heaven is the actual name of the second level at Taipei Train Station. It is a walk around in a rectangle which features many restaurants and food court restaurants. At some restaurants you can look down onto the vast first floor of the train station, usually occupied by waiting train travellers.

There are also many bakeries, snack food and coffee shops as you walk around the rectangular 2nd floor.

Food court offerings are very affordable here, but restaurants tend to cost more, for obvious reasons.

Breeze is always a favourite of mine for meals in food court restaurants.

Taipei Station is the central terminus for several train-based services serving the city and the whole of the country. Servicing the numerous pasengers and visitors that pass through the station requires a mall, and Breeze fills that role. Spanning several floors from the underground portion (where the rail lines run) to a floor above the expansive main atrium, it's a convenient place to try out some local and international fare before or after a trip, or simply because you're there. We had other priorities but did at least have a chance to eat at the food court where our favourite experience were the local cold and hot local desserts.

If your in Taipei Main Station and need a bite to eat, definitely go! This is located in the Main Station area. You have the 'fancy' stalls selling confectionary and other items. A bit like Japan, but on a smaller scale. Upstairs you have restaurants and a Food Court area. I stopped at the Food Court. Clean, with a nice choice of Taiwanese food. There were also other options too including a Burger King which appeared to be popular. Nice for a quick lunch. I had noodles which were so good. Vegetarian choices are limited but there are options. I stopped on my first day coming from the airport with luggage. If you go upstairs with luggage, then there appeared to only be one escalator to go down. Just walk around or ask someone.

We had late lunch at food court on the second floor and dim sum on the second floor. The food was delicious. The shops on the ground floor were also good. The Breeze Taipei Station is well decorated snd maintained.

Not only a Station, It is an one stop place to have meal, to taste Taiwanese desserts/bakeries; and to buy souvenir.

The ground floor includes the main hall of Taipei Station, restaurants, bakeries and souvenir shops. The second floor (floor 1 in European system) is a big food court, filled with lots of familiar eateries- Taiwanese, Japanese, Asian and Western cuisine.

Floor B1 includes the entrance to the platforms of High Speed Rail, Taiwan Railway and MRT (Red line and Blue line).

There are underground passages which link to many underground Malls, shopping districts and food courts.

Also, very importantly, the whole areas are air-conditioned.

For most travelers the food choices and quality compare with it's prices always a disappointment! I tend to not to eat or buy anything from any station or airport when I travel around the world, but Breeze Centre in Taipei station is a complete different experience to me!

I was born in Taiwan, but I have been live in UK for over 10 years, I have seen the changes of the Taipei in the past 10 years. The Taipei station is the major focus to me. The Breeze Centre definitely made Taipei station become more interesting place to visit and want to stay longer, plus all the underground shopping area link to Chungshan North Road; it really can helped the most foreign tourists about Taipei food and shopping experience even with the shortest visiting time.

The variety of choices and clean appearence is the major attractions to many western tourist. I remember when I was little, I never want to eat Starion food as it was lilttle choice and the hygiene wasn't good, but recent few visiting in Taipei, I couldn't resist to shopping and eating at Breeze Centre in Taipei station or intentionally walk through the underground shopping centre under the station. It just so exciting and so many choices...

Maybe for some people will say there are better food around Taipei, this place just a mall with chains food, but compare with worldwide stations and airports, I must say there is no other place as exciting and provide such quality as Taipei station.

For western tourists, you can feel safe and comfortable to sit down enjoy a reasonable Taiwanese cruising at Breeze centre in Taipei station if you are not ready to seat around the stalls next to the street or concern about traditional Taiwanese night market style food. The place like Taipei station, Taipei 101 or any departmentstore food court will be your alternative choice to enjoy Taiwanese food, but of course, the flavors will not be the same as eating at the food stalls along street or at night Market, but the hygiene is guaranteed.
Also, if you forgot to purchase some gift for your friends back home just before you leave Taipei, this is the place for your gift shopping as well.

We passed through Taipei Main Station three times during our trip, and were shocked to discover that it's not simply a transportation hub but rather the sort of place we would voluntarily visit--even absent any travel needs. The Main Station a sprawling complex filled with amazing restaurants, bakeries, food stores, tea shops, cafes, and shops. We ate twice at Han Lin, where the food and service were excellent, and also bought tea at Comebuy and Ten Ren. We picked up and dropped off our rental car with Hotai Leasing Corporation, which was a quick and seamless transaction both times. The station has lockers of different sizes, so if you're running around the city with a lot to carry, you can drop your things off for a while and pick them up later. The Main Station connects the TRA (traditional train), High Speed Rail, MRT (Taipei subway), and buses. Coming from New York, it's incredible to see what a world-class transportation hub can look like, and I only wish we could do the same.

This is the main train terminal but with lots to eat on the ground floor and upper floor ranging from Taiwanese take out steamed bun stores to western sit down restaurants. Dotted along the 1/F corridor were also little gift stalls for trendy souvenirs.

The station is fairly big and busy. The bathrooms in the basement were clean and well maintained.

Not knowing what to expect this place in the early morning while waiting for my TRA train to Tainan, there are a lot of elderly homeless people, laying on the floor. The building itself is really amazing because the interior is cooler than outside even though there is no air-conditioning and there was raining outside. The building material and design are really amazing. However, I feel that there are some social problem hiding behind the scene where many homeless people are staying these area before dawn and after the dusk. The City government needs to think of a way to handle such problem.

Besides four foodcourts of different themes, there are also many restaurants so you will be spoilt for choices. Prices are quite reasonable and the food are quite ok but can get very crowded during evening time especially the foodcourts. Remember to try the railway bento sets sold at the 1st level located not far from one of the entrance and do walk and shop around on the 1st level too.
