Hongludi
The area
Neighborhood: Banqiao / Zhonghe / Yonghe District
Banqiao district is the center of administration, shopping and transportation of New Taipei City, encompassing shopping, tasting local snacks, and experiencing traditional and night markets. Here is also the first choice of Christmas celebration in Taiwan- Christmasland in New Taipei City. Within this modern complex, a garden architecture full of Chinese tradition “the Lin Family Mansion and Garden” is hidden, complete with attics, pavilions and artificial mountains and fountains. Zhonghe and Yonghe not only have world class soybean milk, but also have places with a rather artistic lifestyle. Near MRT Yongan Market Station, there is the only old document repair book hospital in Taiwan - the National Taiwan Library Book Hospital bookbinding room. It has been here since Taisho year 4 of the Japanese occupation, which is extremely rare! In addition, the tiny crisscrossing streets of these two cultural districts still holds many interesting bookstores waiting for your discovery.

I've been Hongludi for more than 5 times till now. I dare say Hongludi has one of the best night view I've ever seen in Taipei area, but you have to climb up MANY stairs to the temple then to see it You have better rent motor or at least take bus or taxi to get there because it's not located in an urban area.

By local resident view, strongly recommend foreigners to come here enjoy great taipei night view and traditional temple culture. It's not convient to come here, you will have to go to MRT Nanshijiao station and take a taxi for ten minutes. Although it's not easy to reach here, you will not feel regreated at night.

The temple easy to find parking area. Meanwhile, the temple main god response for everything. Generally, the people went to temple to seeking Groundkeeper God for help. Make a wish, dreams come true.

-I'd like to share my experience to foreigners since there is no English reviews for this good spot.
- It is standing on the top of a mountain southern of Taipei city, which makes it a marvelous place for Taipei night scene, like those well-known and crowded spots such as Xiangshan, the Elephant mountain.
- It is famous for the temple called Nanshan Fude Temple, where local people come here and pray for great fortune.
- When you enter the temple, you will immediately see its 2-meter-high Land Deity statue. Don't foeget to touch its brass skin, everyone does that. And you should also try the "exchange of the mother coins", which means you can use 10 or 50 NT dollars(as you wish) to exchange an 1 NT dollar but blessed by the deity. Then you would have good luck to earn more money in the future.
- The way to this place is not so convenient. Driving could be a better choice. If you can only get there by public transportation, you can take bus no.249 and no.670.
