The gallery shows the few steps of whiskey production. Could be something interesting, but the explanation or lack of visual made it hard to comprehend what was going on. There was no guide to show us around as well and everything was pretty independently done....More

If you love whisky, it's worth a visit. For non-whisky drinkers, you could probably skip it. The short museum is just that - short. It's a picturesque facility for sure. My hubby being a whisky dr ken was in heaven. Me - not so much.

The distillery provides a self-guided walkthrough tour where visitors can read and find out more about the whisky making process. It also provides a quick sharing about whisky tasting and a free small drink to taste. There is a shop that carries many of the...More

I’m a fan of Scottish single malts and was not sure about these from Taiwan. Glad to admit, they are lovely. We had a tasting and were pleasantly surprised by the subtle differences among them. They were delicious! We also had a great coffee after...More

Had some spare time so took a short trip on the train to King Car Kavalan Whiskey. Well worth the trip. Especially designed for tourists and making of whiskey. Would recommend the whiskey tasting and pay the bit extra and get to choose what you...More

We had an excellent English tour (be sure to book this in advance for English!), with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the opportunity to sample almost everything available, and then ended with a nice meal at the cafe. Worth the trip!

The distillery is a good learning experience. It is also picturesque in a way. The presentation at the start of the unguided tour was not in English but there were a lot of English write ups along the away so it did not matter. It’s...More

This place is good for fist timers who have never been to any distillery. It offers basic info on how whisky is being made, and for the Taiwanese, it is something they are proud of, being the first distillery in Taiwan. At specific timing, they...More

The saddest distillery I have ever visited. It is not easy to come to this place to begin with - either you drive, arrange a private tour or taxi. In our case, we had no plans so we took a cab. 30 minutes from the...More

Hi Amelia Although the Kavalan Distillery is quite away from the town center, you can find Mr. Brown Café as well as an Orchid nursery (if my memory serves me) on site that you and your son can wait. The tour itself... More
