The area
Neighborhood: Sanxia / Yingge District
Yingge, with a 200-year history in pottery, is one of the earliest settlements of Taiwan, thus earning the reputation of “Taiwan’s Jingdezhen”. Constructed with exposed concrete and steel structures, the Yingge Ceramics Museum is a landmark presenting rustic beauty. Walk into Yingge Old Street and feel the pieces of brick and tiles lightly emitting a historical and cultural atmosphere. Stroke the potteries to sympathize with the hundred-year-old artistic essence by aged masters. Reputed as the hall of eastern art, “Sanxia Zushi (Divine Ancestor) Temple is a temple built with an ancient technique. The groups of bygone architectures and baroque-style plaques of Sanxia Old Street still retain their former self. Once known as Sanjiaoyong street, Minquan street used to be the gathering grounds of the once-prosperous cloth dying industry. The Sanxia Dye Workshop was established to keep the blue-dye culture from disappearing. Visit this little village of art to delicately experience local humanities and scenic nature.Visit a small town rich with arts and experience local cultural features and natural landscapes in detail!

More information never hurts

Admittedly this topic will likely only interest those who have worked in construction/remodeling, or hope to plan their dream house someday. I couldn't help but to be impressed with the variety of ways this company has used to incorporate colors and designs into tiles. Everything from flooring to bathroom tiles, to specialty tiles with photographic designs is covered. The exhibit gives a fair amount of information about how tilemaking has placed this company on the map and given it stature. However, there is definitely an effort made towards education, with plentiful displays and explanations. This exhibit is English-speaker friendly.
