Accessible by Taxi
May 2019 • Friends
Shop was rather far out and required a taxi ride in and out of the area as buses were limited (average waiting time of 30-45min). They have 2 buildings, one for workshops and the other, a retail. Items were limited to mostly to Jams, Juices and pickled items but they all tasted really fresh and good.

Prices are not too expensive too considering it is a specialty store. Store-front provides a free dispenser for Kumquat Tea of sorts and staff will assist in booking of taxi too.

DIY and shopping at AGRIOZ YiLan
Dec 2017 • Family
My Daughter (15) and I had a great time with the DIY, as it's with the candied fruits that my wife like to eat.

We also shopped at the gift shop and found some other preserved fruits and cakes.

Tip: this is a good stop to combine with the visit to Rden cake shop along the same road.

Quaint place and a relaxing visit
Mar 2017 • Couples
Agrioz Candied Fruit Museum is a quaint factory-museum-cafe place. We visited this place on a weekday afternoon and it was serenely quiet. Our cab driver informed that a second generation had taken over this place and renovated it, and it was rather telling. There is a nice cafe alongside a workshop space with ornaments of past years and tables for DIY kumquat (Fortunella japonica) making sessions. For NT$150 per person, you can make a small jar of kumquat to bring home. You will be given some of the fruits and a fruit cutter to slice the fruits and mix it with sugar and salt to form a sweet/salty/sour contortion that is refreshing on a hot day or after meals. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a shop selling kumquat products, from preserved fruit to jam to ice cream. It's a lovely place to stop by for an hour, and kids will love the DIY sessions.

Visited and DIY candied Kumquart
Jan 2017 • Friends
We have visited this place couple times before, never disappointed, they always have new stuff for us to learn, to taste their candied kumquart. It is a very pleasant to spend 2 hours here in the shop and cafe. No public transportation, you need a car or hire a taxi to visit place.

Fun candied Kumquart class!
Jun 2016 • Friends
The factory part is relatively brief and mainly shown as pictures instead of real life views of the production, but I really enjoyed the DIY candied kumquart class! It's easy and you know how to re-do it at home after a 20 minute session. The rest is candied fruits shopping.

Not really a factory
Oct 2016 • Family
This is more a preserved fruit store. There is no viewing of production. There is a cafe and a space for you to DIY preserved mandarin oranges. That again is just shaking a container of fruits and sugar. Not a must go.

DIY candied Kumquat + kumquat souvenirs!
Feb 2016
A small factory for visitors to see and experience how the Kumquats are made.
You can finish this place in less than an hour. Some unique spots for photo taking!
The place to dine, make and see all things kumquat!

Things to see include:
1) a cafe- not many kumquat dishes, just some tea and pastries and the usual tea and latte.
2) a factory, where u can view from top down, from the second level. You will need to climb a short flight of stairs though, the elderlies might wanna give this a miss. (I visited the place during the Chinese new year, hence the factory wasn't operating, not really sure if it will operate during Non- Cny season)
3) a kumquat making workshop: costs 150NT per participant. Sessions are conducted throughout the day and each slots takes about 20 min or less. An instructor will teach 6-8 participants the steps to making candied kumquats. Instructor will take participants through all the steps (quite simple) and each participant gets to bring home a small bottle of candied kumquat.
4) a souvenir store: the place where they sell all things kumquat! Check out the kumquat drink/tea, kumquat flavored egg (like the Taiwanese Tea boiled eggs), and the Kumquat pastry (like the pineapple pastry). This is the only place where they sell kumquat pastry. I couldn't find it in other places in Yilan.
The pastry's quite a unique choice of souvenir (compared to the usual spring onion products (which yilan is famous for) and the pineapple tarts.

For Self-Drive travelers, there's free parking just beside the Agrioz Cafe.

It's fun for us to have the DIY candied fruit class, especially for kids. It is easy, fun and memorial. The candied kamquats are yummy.
