Went here as a stopover enroute taroko. Loved the view of mountains and ocean together. Great location for photo sessions. During our visit it was cloudy and cold, but came to know that the sunrise view from the cliff is great.

This is one of the 8 most beautiful sights in Taiwan and rightly so! The view here is simply breathtaking! However, it can get crowded and difficult to take clear shots at some times. Nonetheless, it is a must-see!

It's not a place to 'do' but ' see'.. and the view was magnificent. It was a little tricky to take good pictures as there were many tourists there but we enjoyed the scenery nonetheless. There was good toilets and parking there.

Paid an extra to visit this area but well worth it. View of cliffs at the sea and also of central highlands are well worth the stop.

The view from the old highway road is just amazing. The emerald blue waters next to one of the world largest sea cliffs is a trwar for the eyes ! Don’t miss it if you are in Taroko.

This spot is beautiful. It clearly shows the road that cut by the side of the cliffs that link Yilan to Hualien. View is fantastic. Very good for photo shot. Highly recommended for a stopover visit.

After we finally found the right stop, we parked by the side of the road (there are plenty of parks) and made our way down. Unfortunately the path just ends on a platform roughly 10 meters above the beach and there is no way to...More

A stop-look-and-go spot that is amazing enough for you to stay longer than you expected. Lovely place. The Pacific Ocean is particularly magnificent along this stretch of coastline. Waters are amazingly blue!

We hired a driver for half a day. Then you can visit early and do other things later. Gets very hot during the day, so morning a better option. Watch the monkeys!!

Safety in Taiwan (2 Replies)
Hi all, this is my first time in Taiwan. Anyone can advise me if it is safe to visit mountains or Parks during end january? Is it cold and rainy and will it be dangerous? I am thinking of going taroko, qingshui cliff, hehuanshan, gaomei wetland and cingjing farm. Any danger/landslides that I should take note? Thank you!

From Xincheng (Taroko) Stn to Qingshui Cliff by train (5 Replies)
Hi there, I've read this thread: https:/…85285634 It seems there is a direct train from Xincheng (Taroko) Stn to Chongde Train Station with little more frequent times than the bus 1132. I'm wondering so is there a way to walk safely from Chongde Train Station to Qingshui Observatory Deck? If yes, how long will be this way and how long will it be last (walking)? Or is it sufficient to go to Chongde beach and back to Chongde Train Station? Any advice or comments are appreciated. ...More

Thank you very much for your reply. Is it safe to walk along a highway in Taiwan (or this specific route)? Is it allowed to walk along a highway in Taiwan? Can I hitchhike on this highway? Thank you.
