The Shrine is worth a visit even if just a quick stop. The short trek to the Shrine isn't very difficult or impressive, but the view of the waterfalls from the parking lot is unique. It's not often you'll see this kind of view. We didn't get a chance to go any higher or further, but I believe the path to the top was closed due to safety reasons..

This is a nice little end to the trip around Taroko national park, and it makes for some nice photos. Albeit if you don’t do the trail, it might not be worthwhile stopping here and getting off the bus, as you’re never sure when these will turn up. NB you can only do this sight on the inbound buses, I.e on your way back to Hualien, so plan accordingly.

I visited the Eternal Spring Shrine while on a day tour to Taroko Gorge. Like everywhere else here, this shrine and the surrounding landscape is just beautiful. I loved the tall mountains, greenery, and beautiful river that surrounds the shrine. The history of the area is interesting in regards to the creation of the highway. Our tour guide told us all about it but there are signs around the shrine area that mention the history behind the shrine.

Parking for the shrine is alongside the road and is around a 15 min walk to reach to. The view is amazing and you can see the shrine from the parking area. There are bathrooms nearby so even if you don’t plan on visiting it’s a great pitstop.

This is a beautiful shrine, but you can only look at it across the river. It has been wiped out twice by landslides, so it is off limits to visitors. The view is nice.

Eternal spring shrine is part of the Taroko national park reserve and here you will see some beautiful Buddhas along with nature's picturesque vistas surrounding it. I enjoyed watching it all together here.

Unfortunately the hiking trail to the Shrine was closed when we visited, although it was very pretty to view from near the bus stop. You can still walk through a short tunnel and up the road to Changchun Shrine. From there a high suspension bridge leads to a steep flight of stairs up to the bell tower, where you can ring the bell. After the tower, the trail is blocked. It would be worth checking at the park headquarters whether the route has reopened as it looks like this would be a lovely hike and less busy due to the climb. None of the tour parties photographing the Shrine were going up to the bell tower when we were there.

Other than getting near the waterfall, nothing much to explore. But it is one of the recommended place to visit in Taroko...

If you are going to the Taroko Gorge, you must stop and take a moment to pause for the cause of this shrine. It can be a short or long stop, depending on how much time you have.

I felt that there is nothing much to see in this site, comparing to other Taroko's many sites. Maybe because I did not enter the main site, and only view it from far?

Hi
Was there a reason why it was close at the time you visited? I'm planning to visit in April and would be disappointing if it was also close then
Thanks

Hello
It was under renovation plus some maintenance work around it. I would suggest you check with the tourist office before that.
I hope this was helpful.
