Elephant Trail starts here
Aug 2021
Xiangshan means "Elephant Mountain" in Chinese. It is the start of the Elephant Mountain Trail, which will take you through this hilly area, and give you a good view of Taipei city. Xiangshan Station is a stop on the Taipei MRT Red line.

Home of the Tree Frogs

Xiangshan MRT Station is on the Tamshui-Xinyi (Red) Line. It is beneath Xinyi Road. Xiangshan Station gives good access to the Elephant Mountain Park and hiking trail. It is also near to the protected habitat of the endangered Taipei Tree Frog. The interior of the station is painted with scenes from nature, including various aspects of tree frogs.

Let's go for a hike
Oct 2020
Xiangshan Station is at the end of the MRT Red Line. You can take Exit 2 and find the start of the Xiangshan Trail, which is what many hikers do. By the way Xiang Shan means "Elephant Mountain" in Chinese. The trail is around 1.5 kms (one mile) long.

MRT station beside Xiangshan Park
Nov 2019
This is one of the better and more popular station. Right outside is Xiangshan Park. The area is well signposted and you can easily follow the signs to the Xiangshan Hiking Trail. Most people get off at this station to hike up Xiangshan mountain.

End of Red Line
Nov 2018 • Family
This is the station you would need to get to if planning on hiking the Xiangshan trail. The end of the red line MTR, exit 2 will bring you to the park. It's easy to just follow the posted signs to find the start of the trail.

Oct 2018 • Couples
Clean Station with helpful direction guides like all other Taipei MTR stations. Also within walking distance to the popular business/commercial complex around Taipei 101. Nice!

Song of the Frogs
Aug 2017 • Solo
Designed for the Taipei Frogs which can be seen on the Elephant trail. It is the last station after the Trade Center stop. I walked from Xiangshan to the Elephant Mountain and then to the Tiger Point and 9 to 5 point. There is also a night market nearby which is close to Songshan. I think Raohe. Overall a good place to visit if you have time and you can walk long distances.

Nearest Station to Elephant Hill
Apr 2017 • Couples
This is the nearest station to Elephant hill and it's on the red line. It's about 10-15 mins' walk to the start of the steps trail up to Elephant Hill.
