What a great experience! Highly recommend

I took the dumpling class from Jodie and it was delightful. You learn the traditional way of cooking from somebody who is passionate, and patient, about the subject. This was one of the best parts of my taipei trip and I would recommend to anybody.

Absolutely wonderful class--would recommend to anyone.

We arranged a private class with Jodie around some food intolerances and decided on radish cake, green onion pancakes, and dumplings. She also served and taught us about some smaller dishes in between projects and wound down after the meal with tea.

As others have said, Jodie is truly a wonderful and welcoming host. She spent many hours with us cooking and chatting about food and life, and we left feeling like we'd had not just a cooking class but an outstanding and memorable life experience. As traveling can be both mind-expanding and isolating, I would recommend her classes not only for their advertised content but also to anyone who wants to make a genuine connection in an unfamiliar place. And her apartment does indeed have a great view!

Market Tour
Mar 2017 • Couples
Nearly a year later, my wife and I still talk about this tour. It was one of our favorite things we did in Taipei. We got to get off the normal tourist path and try some fantastic food. We enjoyed all the tidbits we learned from Jodie, from explanations of rituals and prayers within the temples to a bit of history on the markets we visited. Really loved it.

Jodie is great!

We learned how to make dumpling dough, two different types of filling, and two different styles of dumplings, as well as scallion pancakes. But beyond the learning, Jodie is a wonderful host, an interesting lady. We had fun just talking to her, learning more about life in Taipei. Highly recommended!

The highlight of our trip to Taipei
Apr 2017 • Family
From the moment my kids and I were welcomed by Jodie into her home, we felt relaxed and happy. Jodie told us to make her home ours and to feel free to wander around and be comfortable. Jodie is an excellent teacher and chef. We made large and small dumplings with different savory and delicious fillings. We made green onion pancake with egg, and a sinfully delicious black sesame and sugar dessert dumpling. The food was phenomenal, as was the view in her lovely home. Fun music playing and Jodie is very personable. We had a great day with her chatting about anything and everything. Jodie showed real interest in us and connects great with kids. I highly recommend her to everyone visiting Taipei that wants an authentic experience with a local.

Aside from cooking some delicious and authentic dumplings, you will be warmly welcomed into Jodie's home and kitchen and treated like old friends. The location and view from her home is lovely and the banter easy and fun. Although we arrived on the wrong day (our fault and Her day off), Jodie was so accomodating as to arrange for us to come a couple of hours later so we didn't miss out. What a legend, and as for the food, I think you need to get there and try it for yourself. Spectacular way to spend a day!

Had a great afternoon at Jodie's kitchen. Learnt some great skills in an environment that felt just like you were at your own home. I would definitely recommend this to visitors to Taipei - one of the best things we've done in a while

Jodi's cooking class is the place.
We spent 4 marvelous hours with Jodi. The class takes place at her home which makes a warm family feeling. Jodi is so open warm and friendly which makes the whole afternoon fly by.
Jodi shard with us Taiwanese essential cooking methods and ingredients and built the entire experience step by step.
She was very attentive to my wife's and mine different food likings and managed to cater for both our tastes.
The food we prepared was very delicious, and I am taking with me back home some very interesting dishes
THANK YOU JODI

Great Day Cooking Dumplings
Oct 2016 • Couples
We cannot say enough good things about our trip to Jodie's Kitchen. We had so much fun with Jodie, this was the highlight of our trip to Taiwan.

Jodie was quick to respond when we decided to try and book a cooking class at the last minute. She had all the ingredients we needed ready to cook gourmet style dumplings from scratch, and she taught us the everything we needed to know. It was so much fun and Jodie was incredibly patient and fun to spend the afternoon with.

Afterwards, she even recommended a hot springs restaurant and gave us instructions in Chinese so we could have a taxi take us there (this was so much fun too and we wouldn't have known about it even with her)!

If you enjoy Taiwanese food and/or just learning to cook, we highly recommend Jodie. Thanks so much for a memorable day!

Jodie went above and beyond our expectations!
Sep 2016 • Friends
My husband and I love taking cooking classes when we travel and my husband spends a fair amount of time cooking so we weren't sure what to expect. We took the dumpling class and Jodie was fantastic! First, Jodie is very articulate in talking about how she achieves the right balance of flavors in the recipes. Second, when we asked questions about modifying or changing the recipes, she had good explanations of what to do and what not to do and why. The why part is key for anyone interested in cooking. Her knowledge of all things food/drink related was impressive. Also, she had great recommendations for other things to do in Taipei. Thank you for such a great experience!
