Shopping and night market
Aug 2019 • Solo
I visited here the other night. It was fun to walk around but mainly younger crowd. Abit of shops and alittle bit of food stalls to try but not too much selection from my experience. Worth a look.

Shopping district for the youths
Mar 2019 • Couples
It is located right next to the Central Park MRT station. Most of the shops only open in the evening. In the day, it is almost like a dead town.

The famous Angel chicken chop is located there. You can also find the same store at the Ruifeng Night Market. A big piece costs NT75. We opted for the original flavour. Other choices include different degrees of spiciness.

For ladies who like Korean style clothes, this will be a good place to shop around. There are also food stalls for you to get a quick snack.

Shopping for young people
Dec 2018 • Family
This is the only place we manage to do some shopping. There are many korean inspired apparels. The shops here play kpop music to the delight of my teens.

Young crowd

Take MRT to Central Park Station and take Exit 1 to New Jyuejiang Shopping Area. The place is crowded with teenagers and even the famous Angel Chicken has an outlet here.

Good for shopping
Jan 2018 • Family
Good for shopping. We went on a weekday and it was not so packed. However, it seemed that there wasn’t much street food on the weekday. I would recommend queuing for angel chicken as their chicken is really tender and juicy!

Read the reviews here, many saying this is the Ximending of Kaohsiung. Went there at 10 am & realize all the shops still close. Most shops start to open at 11 1m & only afternoon, crowds start to come. Overall, a good place to shop & eat.

Adequate but not great shopping and food area
Nov 2017 • Family
Size - if you’re expecting Taipei’s Ximending, Seoul’s Myeongdong or Bangkok’s Pratunam, lower your expectations; would say it’s barely a quarter of the size, with the main street running through taking 8 minutes to stroll nonstop from end to end, and the few side streets barely 4 minutes each.

Operating hours - most shops open around 11am or later; closing time is around 10 to 11pm, and some food stands close around midnight.

Crowd - quiet during the weekdays, a little busier on weeknights. Weekends are bustling day & night, but definitely NOT shoulder to shoulder, still plenty of space to walk.

Shopping - outer area has brand names Nike, Adidas, Vans etc; other clothing and accessories are pretty much similar and priced from NTD200 upwards, but most averaging NTD300, with imports such as Korean accessories costing above NTD400. Shoes as high at NTD900 for unknown brands! Not very fashion forward either. Big chain supper market Poya has the most affordable stuff and largest range; everything from popular cosmetics/skincare, food, underwear, to household electronics and gadgets. Several beauty stores like 86 Shop, Cosmed & Strawberry, and Holika2 + Etude House. Also chanced upon a very classy looking adult store - thought it was a beauty store!

Food - popular ones are the flambé beef cubes from NTD100 and the giant-sized Angel fried chicken cutlet at NTD70. There’s lots of milk tea, some fishballs and fruit sticks, and of course more chicken cutlets and fried stuff. No 大肠抱小肠 aka sausage wrapped in glutinous rice ‘bun’ or steak with pasta.

There is a movie theatre here, but looks pretty run down from outside. And there are plenty of dogs - saw a corgi & retriever ‘doorman’, and plenty of poodles.

Great place to shop and eat
Nov 2017 • Couples
This place is walking distance from our hotel and we came here to shop and eat street food. Do visit at night as it is more happening at night. It feels kinda like myeongdong at night. However, we find that the clothing are not as cheap as we have expected so we never really shop much here.

Great shopping district

Location within 2 minutes walk from the Central Park station, most shop started to operate at around 6-7pm. It's clothes and accessories in majority, there are few street food stalls also.
