We reach there at about 4.30pm, the sun is setting at around 5pm and stalls inside are closing. Many small flower flies are swarming around sun flower and other flowers.
Lots and lots of flowers, you will love this place at first sight! Good place to take lots of pictures.
This place is quite far away from Taichung fengjia area, we hire a driver to save the trouble. Hiring a driver (taxi) from hotel, cost us 3500 ntd for a day to many attractions within Taichung.

We were fortunate that the Exhibition was open when we went to Taiwan last month and we are glad we made a trip there. As mentioned, avoid going there on Sat/Sun as it is JAMPACKED!. we wanted to go when we reach Taichung on Sunday but luckily our driver talked us out of it. He brought us there the next day (mon) and it was not so crowded.
The 1st thing to mention is that the place is HUGE and it is FREE!!! HAHA... Nice outdoor area with many "flower sea" - beds of flowers in huge rows.
Besides flowers there are also many exhibits and food stalls as there is a market like area to eat and rest.
MUST EAT : There is a stall selling Ice-Cream in a flower-pot.. it looks like a plant and inside there are jelly shaped like worms.. HAHA.. very nice and cheap..
We spent around 3 hours there, taking photos and enjoying ourselves. If possible, factor this place in as it is only open during Nov/Dec every year!

Knew about this FREE event from a travel brochure and since our Minsu (local home-stay) was just 5 min drive away, we decided to drop by.
Nice big field of different flowers with a lot of local fruit/food stalls selling decent food. The fruit here were quite cheap. Our girls enjoyed the walk as there were many pet dogs.
However there wasnt much to do except taking pictues of flowers and eating local snacks/fruit. A 2 hrs visit will be more than enough.

The festival is held once a year Around Nov and Dec and always attracts a lot of flowers-loving tourists. Each year you can always see some new ideas and creations, and it is a wonderful spot for photographers, too. Bring your kids and have a stroll here is one of the unforgettable life experiences. Just remember to take the free shuttle bus from Earthquake park.

The nursery charges minimal entrance fee but it's all worth it. Beautifully bloomed flowers in huge fields for you to take pictures.
There's even a strawberry and tomato 'farm' where we bought sweet and delicious strawberry and tomato. Cost SGD$2 for 1 box each. CHEAP!

We nearly give this place a pass when tour guide recommend it. It was our departing day from Taiwan and we were heading back to Taipei airport after checking out early in Taichung. It was on the way and we say ok, why not since we have the time?
There are fields and fields of flowers. There were so many types of flowers. We spend a good 2 hours taking photos. There are some props like wooden piano, benches, swing, small cottage house in the fields. There're even short ladders for photographer to have a better angle down towards the subject in the middle of the flower field and nothing else. Few bride and grooms are there to have pictures taken.
As its end spring/early summer, sun was burning bright at 10am. Good for taking photo. Clear blue sky and colourful flower fields. But I got very tanned. Didn't expect to go under sun so long (departure day; don't expect much sun in airport or aircraft). Oh well, it's well worth it.
Sorry can't remember the cost of the entrance fee but it's minimal. Realise all entrance fee in Taiwan are just minimal. If senior citizen (65 years old and above; have to show photo ID/passport to prove), they special lower pricing. My mum missed out by few months :/
Definitely will go there again when I visit Taichung. The types of flowers in the fields change every few months.

When in Taichung from November to December, do try to visit the Xinshe Sea of Flower Festival. You'll be amazed with the abundance of blossoms in this place!
You may hire a taxi going there but please note that traffic congestion is heavy, especially during the weekends. But I must say, the burst of colors is worth it!

Granted I was there on a school field trip with 150 kids.... The scenery was lovely! I'm definitely planning to go back on my own or with friends. It's a free event and there are lot's of food vendors and things to buy. It's like a mini night market scene.
It's very pretty and worth a trip! There is a bus that goes there... I think it's the 257 or 275. But it's a good drive out in the middle of nowhere.....! There is plenty of parking and I believe that's also free.

Every late November to early December, a two to four-week long flower exhibition will be held here which attracts thousands of locals and tourists alike to visit. With 60 hectares of flowers in vivid colours to explore, everywhere is a perfect photo spot for you. Other than thematic floral display, there is also an educational exhibition center for visitors to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s agriculture and flower industries.

Not an ideal time to visit for now as the number of flowers are limited and there are some empty plots meant to be upgraded for now. Might need some research on when will they achieve is before heading over.

Hi, any idea when does the event close? If I go on 8 Dec, will it still be available?
Written November 29, 2019
