It was nearly raining when we arrived but managed to grab pictures of the stunning partial sunset. A beach full of stones. Most stalls closes when it gets dark but nearby try mu ming restaurant for their authentic traditional 7-8 course of food. Upon reservation only unfortunately.

We came here after visiting Taroko National park. It was super windy and hard to stand still. Very beautiful coastline. The trees are bent 90 degrees by strong winds. This place is only for view, not a place for swimming. Cool place for visit!

Nice pebble beach facing the Pacific Ocean. The waves are strong so do not let children near it. It’s quite windy and cooling to walk along the beach. Also a nice place to have a great view of sun rise.

You cannot swim here, but you can bring your kids to play with the pebbles, bring a book to read (and an umbrella if it's sunny). Our 7-year-old daughter did both, and ended up staying at Qixingtan (Chihsingtan) for more than two hours.

A beautiful stretch of pebble beach with stunning scenery that makes for a great stroll ... just be careful of getting sunburnt!

The sunrise view is amazing. While the sun rise from the Pacific Ocean, the light and fog on the mountain makes the view gorgeous. After sunrise, it becomes very much like any other beach.
The bike trail is a also pleasing ride.

After returning from my trip, I compared the photos online with the ones I had taken. The locals said usually in the months of Aug and Sept, the waves are bigger and stronger due to the monsoon. It was really raw nature power, with waves pounding and rolling, and wind sweeping into your face. The sight of big rocks and pebbled beach, adds to the raw and rugged feel. Also, try out the local delicacies such as charcoal baked sweet potatoes, home made rice dumplings peddled by the locals. Really simple, fresh and wholesome, cultivated from local lands.

Chixing basically in Chinese means 7 stars. I have no idea why they named it thusly. After some research, it turned out there used to be 7 small lakes in the areas where the airport. It was filled under Japanese rule. However the local continues to call this place seven lakes.
This lovely beach can ce access easily by a bus. Get the information from the tourist center which is directly opposite the bus center (a small one)
The bus stops direct infront of the beach. Please note the last bus to the center. Or you can take a cab after this to the "triangle" where all the food and shops are.
This is not a normal beach, or rather a sandy beach I used to get at home. The shore is cover with pebbles of all shapes and sizes. (it was featured in our newspaper that one the tourist actually tried to steal and smuggled the pebbles out of Taiwan!)
The sea is of 2 shades of blue. Light and dark. The waves when they hits the shorelines burst into white frills. The warm sunlight, the glittering sea, the cool sea breeze. Absolutely beautiful.
There is a bicycle track if you are into cycling but I personally prefers to sit by the beach and just do nothing.

Just lie back in your hotel room...make sure you have ocean views and watch the waves...bliss....for the more active there's a bike path and the beach has interesting colored stones...good for an evening out and then head for dinner at the nearby restaurants....spend atleast 4-6 hours beach+dinner....
