It was nearly raining when we arrived but managed to grab pictures of the stunning partial sunset. A beach full of stones. Most stalls closes when it gets dark but nearby try mu ming restaurant for their authentic traditional 7-8 course of food. Upon reservation only unfortunately.

This beach is refreshingly clean, unpolluted and does not reek of that briny smell Which typify most beaches. Moreover, instead of sand, there are multitudes of pebbles of all shapes, shades and sizes! It is place to capture azure skies and aquamarine blue sea with foamy waves.

A beautiful sea shore with beach full of beautiful colorful pebbles.

Good place to relax and have some foot massage.

Surroundings also have beautiful mountain views which give this beach unique landscape.

Nice place to spend some quality time.

Nice pebble beach facing the Pacific Ocean. The waves are strong so do not let children near it. It’s quite windy and cooling to walk along the beach. Also a nice place to have a great view of sun rise.

Heard about this place for a long time. Actually I thought it was a lake instead of a beach. We came here and the shower is on and off for a while. Different to other beaches I have been, the view is quite open, so the scene is beautiful. Regarding the well known pebbles, it started from very small, sand like size to very good size ones which were far away from beach. The pebbles (including some Taiwan gemstones ) are pretty much from mountains which got flushed down with floods.
Well, it’s an awesome experience, so I strongly recommend other Hualien tourists would stop by here to explore another natural beauty of Hualien.

Facing the limitless ocean, this is a great place for a chill away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There is also a short line of markets for food.

However, dont recommend to go in August as the sun rays are too harmful for the skin.

Chishingtan is a beautiful beach near Hualien airport. It is not suitable for swimming, but you can enjoy a beautiful scenery of the Pacific Ocean. The bus from Hualien station to Taroko also stops here.

It was rainy day. Luckily it stopped at the time we arrived. The ocean was nicely blue and we really enjoyed our walk on the pebbles beach.

What we didn’t like were the many straydogs in the area.

Weary from a day of walking, my spouse and I were driven to the beach for a brief visit by our guide. It was a cold, windy, day, so we did not linger.

Located in Xincheng Township, this pebbly, rocky stretch of shoreline facing the Pacific Ocean, is flanked by mountains. As beaches go, this one is pretty unremarkable. It does, however, have some wonderful stones, smoothed by the action of the water through the years. But beware! Because so many people have taken the stones from the beach, it is now illegal, and one can be fined!

It isn't sandy, but the pebbles are smooth. The terraced beach provides lovely views. You can get food from the vendors. Be aware the water can splash up, surprising you.
