Photo Spectacular

Feb 2020

This bridge, & surrounding river gorge is a must for any tourist transiting this area. You'd be mad to miss it.
Gorges have virtually sheer sides with a river below. Rock face is "twisted" marble. A photographic delight. just about wherever yo point the camera you have something special.

Picturesque bridge set in mountains and forest

Impossible to miss, this bridge is worth a stop for photos and to take the short walk to the pagoda. There are a number of bridges in Taroko Gorge but this has some of the most stunning scenery around it.

This bridge was built under the order of former President, Chiang Ching-kuo who is the eldest son of Chiang Kai-shek (the 1st president of Taiwan), for the remembrance of his mother. A small bridge with structure painted in red which makes it outstanding among greenery surrounding.

Just a bridge

Stay in the car. Don't get out of the car and stand in the middle of the road bridge to take selfie, please. Geez....
There are plenty of more spectacular locales to see the beautiful gorges in Toroko, with beautiful and safe walking trails or suspension bridges.

Great Viewing Point

This bridge looms into sight, in all it’s red glory, as you turn a bend in the gorge. It offers spectacular views of the approaching and departing river as it makes its was down from the mountains. There is a small pagoda on a rise above the bridge which add to the picturesqueness of this setting.

Good views up and down the River

You get some good views up and down the River - but there are better places. There’s also a better pagoda to climb up. Still though, it’s worth a stop.

I expected to say, "Oh, it's just a bridge!"

But, in fact, I really got into the bridge! We hiked up the stairs to the pagoda, which allowed for some cool photographs and vistas. Spent more time here than I would have expected. If you feel so inclined, stop! It's one of the few times during the day when we got some solitude and distance from the throngs.

Loving Mother Bridge

Chimu bridge is constructed in 1959 and than reconstructed in 1995 is one of most stunning bridge. This is known as and for Loving Mother bridge where a mother coming daily and waited for his son to return home at the shore of Liwi river and Laosi river junction which meet here. The bridge has a marble pair of Chinese Mother lion and Chinese man lion on both side of bridge. This is a Chinese style bridge that's why it painted red colour. You can stop for a while, enjoy the scenic area and go on.

Beautiful

A beautiful park that you can easily spend days exploring. Try to get there during the week and early to avoid the crowds - most are bused in after 10 am.

Not the most amazing place in the park

When you are in such a beautiful park, it is quite amazing at the traffic which stops to take a picture of the man made bridge! At the end of the day it is just a small red bridge. Your time is better spent enjoying the scenery of the park!
