Guan Yin Shan Trail
The area
Neighborhood: Wugu / Linkou District
Wugu District is suited for outdoor activities. Six hiking trails were planned in the Guanyinshan Natural Scenic Area with their respective features. The entire pass is forestry with the sound of birds and insects. A walk through the trail not only strengthens the body but also soothes the mind. The broad breeze canal is an international standard competition waterway, with athletes often gathering for a race. The Luzhou Embankment pet sports park beside the canal offers a good place for parents and kids to go pet walking. Linkou district encompasses both leisure sport and temple features, with sports parks and golf courses for the exercise savvy to enjoy. There are also tourist factories to experience the heart of an industry and DIY fun. The first Japanese OUTLET PARK in Taiwan, MITSUI OUTLET fully satisfies shopping desires and offers a variety of delicacies.

2 smooth hiking trails with great view of WuGu
Aug 2018 • Family
Plenty of parking lots

Nice and broad view to overlook WuGu五股. It was a bit grey and cloudy down the WuGu五股 at the time of my visit and some lightning can be seen from here.

The 2 treetop trails are smooth and short. The one near the visitor center is wheelchair-friendly. There is a 2-story stairs in the farther one connecting to 楞嚴閣 and 開山院, where a corner of Tamsui river淡水河 can be seen.

Visitor center provides clean toilets and drinking fountains.

What a great trail
Jul 2018 • Couples
First time ever, came to Guan Yin San trail. It was perfectly designed and layout just right to have great view of wu gu. The wind (breeze) blowed to you to cool you down in the hot summer. There are several fruit stands which you have some fresh fruits or even cold drinks. We bought some boiled peanuts, freshly baked sweet potato and fresh passion fruits on our way back and enjoyed them during our resting.

Holy mountain
Apr 2018 • Friends
The Guan Yin Shan is the beautiful mountain in front of the Danshuei train station. It is a holy mountain. It has the shape of Guan Yin (Kwanyin), the Buddha of Compassion, in a reclining position. There is a village on the mountain, but it's a very small one. I would even call that a 'hamlet'. There is a trail on that mountain. It is not a difficult one. From the bottom, it takes about two hours at a leisurely pace. The view at the top is most rewarding. You can see Danshuei and the ocean. I really advise you to do it. Take something to drink with you, there are very few shops. And remember it's a holy mountain.

Nice trail
Mar 2014 • Couples
A nice trail to walk on a weekend, easy for the whole family.
But note that you will meet plenty of other people on weekends, so if you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it.
View from the top is great.
