A Japanese dormitory during the time Japanese conquered Taiwan, now served as a Taiwan literature museum. Beautiful ground landscaping and well reserved buildings which every building holds an theme exhibition of Taiwan literature history. It is very good that some old people still help to work here. And one more thing, it has a good cafe on site.

This museum does not have a lot to offer if you don't speak Chinese; however, the tea shop makes a decent enough lunch and the setting is very Zen-like and peaceful as a shady oasis in the city. Beautiful trees and flowers and lovely old Japanese buildings.

Taichung Literature Museum is housed in a complex of old Japanese houses. As I am a Japanese, the architecture is even more interesting than the displays of the museum itself. The entrance is free. There is a small park outside.

The Taichung literature museum occupies a nice garden space with a beautiful banyan tree in the center. It’s very peaceful and fun to walk around, with restaurants and stores located within the park like setting.

This is a series of small buildings containing exhibits related to the literary history of Taichung. It's quite well done, although quite a lot of it is in Chinese only, so it can be difficult to navigate for those who are not able to read Chinese.
It's still a comfy place to be and there is some information which can be picked up from context. The staff there are also keen to explain the exhibits, if you're there when the English-speaking staff are on.

"Taichung Literature Museum" is a well-preserved Japanese-style police dormitory area in Taichung
It occupies a small area but has a very literary and youthful style
You can visit the exhibitions in the Permanent Hall, Children's Literature Hall, Xinghui Cafe, Old Banyan Tree, etc.
Usually when I am here, it is very quiet, elegant and relaxing.
But today there happens to be the "Good Touch Smile Market" that fits the atmosphere here very well and every stall is of high quality.

We stopped by on our way to Taichung Fifth Market. It was originally a police building during the Japanese rule. It has been renovated and now appears to be in a beautiful form as Taichung Literature Museum. The grounds are made up of large banyan trees, making it a very unique place.
