Built in 1908, it is an attractive building. Today it has a cafe and a market in it. Interesting to take a walk inside and read about its history. The market is quite interesting too.

Octagonal house at the west gate originally built by the japanese aft they tore the original gate down. Now it houses some artisanal shops and has become the home to the LBQT nightlight. You may not like the retail but the architecture is interesting.

Looking from outside, I could totally tell it’s a historic site. Yes, either could you. I also could tell, it’s Japanese style as I’ve been told, the buildings with red bricks in Taiwan are usually ‘Japanese’ as the country has been conquered in the past...More

The building itself is steep in history. However, currently it has been turned into an avenue for local artist to showcase their wares for sales and also put up local shows in the theatre on the first floor.
