The area
Neighborhood: Tamsui / Bali District
The enchanting Tamsui Old Street boasts the most beautiful Fisherman’s Wharf sunset of Taiwan. There are also well-complimented delectable snacks such as Ah Gei (bean curd) and fish ball, etc. On Bali left bank, there is the Ferry Old Street and Wazihwei Nature Reserve. It is relaxing and comfortable whether by strolling or cruising through on a bike. Besides the bustling business district, Tamsui is also full of an old vintage flavor. From western architectural relics to residences dating back to Japanese rule, each with their respective features and great stories to tell. If you visit Tamsui in spring, the magnificent cherry blossoms of Tianyuan Palace are a must see. If you wish for further intimacy with nature, why not camp out for the night under the starry sky. The Bali culture park camping site offers round, transparent bubble tents. Experience the close, seamless connection to surrounding nature from within for an unforgettable memory.

Pedestrian Bridge at Marina in Tamsui
Feb 2020
At Tamsui metro stop, outside, you can get on #26 bus to the marina area where a pedestrian Bridge named Love stretches over the marina. At night the bridge lights up and changes colours. A fabulous hotel with all balconies facing the ocean was there too.

The marina area is very clean and beautiful and the Lover's Bridge is a highlight of this area. On the bridge the views are amazing for picture taking of sunsets. There were many professional photographers there too with their expensive cameras on tripods for this event.

At water level, on a dock, there is a small passenger boat which loads passengers heading back to the wharf where the metro station is at one end. You tap your EZ metro card on a machine on dock and get on - it is part of the metro system.

A half hour boat ride after sunset, in the dark, brought us to a very long stretch of a night market that ran for a good mile or so, along the wharf. Trees were wrapped in lights the entire length. Lots of shopping along this stretch. Walking to the end of the stretch, along this very wide wharf, we came back to Tamsui metro station, which was perfectly in place to head home on.

Nice sunset view
Jan 2020
Walked from Tamshui train station (<2 hours). Would recommend renting a bike instead.

Parts of the path from the train station was closed due to construction. Alternative pathways with clear signs available for walking & cycling.

Nice view of the sunset, nice music played by buskers

Took a bus back to the train station after sunset. Alot of people waiting for the bus, would recommend grabbing dinner first before taking the bus back (Less crowded bus).

Mainly for a relaxing walk along the harbor and snapping peaceful photos of the scenery...
Nov 2019 • Family
This bridge is one of the main attractions of Tamsui, at Fisherman's Wharf. Other than the beautiful scenery of the harbor that you can enjoy and snap photos of, there's nothing much else to be done on this bridge. Surrounding this bridge is Fisherman's Wharf, a place that is mainly for walking around enjoying the tranquil sights of boats rolling by and with the waters glistening around the yachts during sunset, and you may want to enjoy a little seafood and a drink --- just not as many options I hope there would be. We walked the stretch and didn't find many shops open.

Personally I prefer hopping over to the Tamsui Old Street the main life of this town where at least it's a little more bustling with numerous varieties of both local and foreign food, cafes, shopping at rather good prices compared to the malls, etc. More things to see and do.

From Tamsui wharf, it cost NT60 one way to get to 渔人码头。You can use yr ez card. Definitely worth the trip. Thoroughly enjoyed the scenic tranquility

Tourist spot in Taipei
May 2019
The place is well known for sunset view and couples. A bit far away from the city centre. Nearby have some seafood restaurants but most of them are overpriced.

A bit disappointed by this well-known bridge
Nov 2018
I guess you need a special relationship to this bridge to like it as much as many people do. Of course it's in some kind of way "iconic" for Tamsui, because you can see it from far away, but I was a bit disappointed. Maybe it's because I've been there at daytime and it looks better illuminated? You can take some selfies while walking across it or with the love sign -- then it's time to jump back into the bus...

Very Nice at Evening
May 2019 • Business
This pedestrian bridge over the Fisherman's Wharf dockyard lights up at night, and makes for a really nice evening walk if you're in the area. Because it's so close to the Taiwan Strait, it was a bit cooler there than in the city.

Just a bridge
May 2019 • Solo
To be honest, there is nothing special about this. Many people take romantic photos here and to watch sunset.
