The area
Neighborhood: Tamsui / Bali District
The enchanting Tamsui Old Street boasts the most beautiful Fisherman’s Wharf sunset of Taiwan. There are also well-complimented delectable snacks such as Ah Gei (bean curd) and fish ball, etc. On Bali left bank, there is the Ferry Old Street and Wazihwei Nature Reserve. It is relaxing and comfortable whether by strolling or cruising through on a bike. Besides the bustling business district, Tamsui is also full of an old vintage flavor. From western architectural relics to residences dating back to Japanese rule, each with their respective features and great stories to tell. If you visit Tamsui in spring, the magnificent cherry blossoms of Tianyuan Palace are a must see. If you wish for further intimacy with nature, why not camp out for the night under the starry sky. The Bali culture park camping site offers round, transparent bubble tents. Experience the close, seamless connection to surrounding nature from within for an unforgettable memory.

Very manageable and rewarding biking trail from Zhuge to Tamsui. Saw several locals - from grandmothers to young children, taking this biking trail. The scenery was beautiful, terrain was mostly flat, there were youbike kiosks at the start and end, hence renting bikes was hassle-free.

It is good to take pictures, enjoy sunset, enjoy the music of buskers, and eat street food.
It was similar to the feeling of the earthquake memorial square in Kobe, Japan.

Great area to hop on a bike. We rented bikes near the Tamsui station, near the water. They have bikes of all ages and sizes. Prizes are reasonable.

Got off at Zhuwei MRT station then rented a bike outside. Followed the bike trail by the river up to Tamsui wharf where my friend and I had some beer and street food. We then took a local ferry to Bali Island where we had yet more grilled street food.

Visitors can have a stroll or cycling tour along the trail and in the od town. The heat can be a little unbearable though when the sun is shining during summer. There are many shops.

It is a cycling road and promenade along the Tamsui River. When I visited, it was almost pedestrian and bicycle traffic counted. The river and the Baoli side of the landscape are full of tourist attractions.
