Chen’s Mochi
Nov 2019 • Family
Visited their shop at Datong road.
Opens 9am-9pm.
Tried different flavours - and our favourites are marlin, green tea with red beans and green beans.

Tasty! We got them again at their stall in Taitung TRA station.

The shop at Datong Road is easy to spot and is just opposite the famous Rong Shu Xia Mi Tai Mu rice noodles. Down the same road is Fan Shu Bo sweet potato chips.

Try 旗魚麻糬!
Dec 2018 • Couples
We waited for around 15-20min ( accepted time). The mashu is freshly made. 旗魚worth the wait is special and tasty. We also tried 花生and sesame, the fillings is tasty but not as unique as 旗魚!

Fresh, delicious mochi
Nov 2018 • Family
The store is called Chen’s Mochi. The mochi and manju are fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the taro mochi and the strawberry manju.

Exceptional mochi
Nov 2018 • Couples
We stopped off at Chen’s for some snacks for our trip down to Kending and were so glad we did. We had the red bean, peanut and speciality mochi and they were all delicious, some of the best mochi’s we have eaten!

famous mochi (glutinous rice cake)
Jul 2017 • Couples
A local famous shop with delicious mochi, flavored peanut, sesame, red bean, green bean, black bean, etc.
Most of time when we travel to Hualien we sure will try the Hualien Zeng's mochi, but this Taitung Chen's mochi are more tastiest then Zeng's. The mochi are fresh made, it only last for 24hrs, but after few hour especially summer day the mochi will become sticky and lost of flavor, finish it immediately rather keep it later or tomorrow are suggested.
Corner of the shop also sell some gift pack such as Roselle syrup, aborigines rice wine, flsh floss, souvenir, etc.
Must try if you like mochi.

Tasty and cheap, but beware pork floss
Oct 2016 • Couples
Might sound like a dumb tourist but was I missing a sign somewhere that the fillings were x as well as pork floss? Made me a sad vegetarian. But hey, it was tasty. Original mochi cake is the best.

the best mochi I've ever had
Aug 2016 • Friends
I have been craving this ever since. I ate a lot of mochi in Taiwan, and nothing else was anywhere close to this good. I loved everything about every flavor that I tried, but the peanut mochi was especially incredible. If you like mochi, put this place at the top of your to-do list. If you don't like mochi, I think Chen's could change your mind.

Melt in the mouth mochi
Jun 2016
Hole in the wall store in Taitung that is known only to locals. We were lucky to have been brought here by our local host, and to sample their mochi. Their mochi is melt-in-the-mouth delicious, and the glutinous rice flour is unusually fragrant. Pity that it can only be kept fresh for 24 hours, and cannot be brought home as souvenirs for friends
