The admission fee for Lucky Art Crayon Factory is 250 NTD per person. The place is more of a children's activity centre than a factory, since you do not see things like production lines. Each paid ticket allows you to participate in 4 DIY activities and redeem 100 NTD worth of products. Admission is free for babies and elderly, but they do not get to participate in the DIY activities or do redemption.
There are starting times to enter the first DIY activity room, and thereafter each group is ushered systematically to cover the 4 rooms. The teachers give instructions in Mandarin and either screen videos or do demonstrations, then allow participants to try out each activity for the remaining 30 minutes per room. The first DIY activity consists of dipping marbles in paint, then rolling the marbles across a piece of paper using a tray. The second DIY activity consists of assembling components to create markers, with each person being allowed to choose 3 out of 6 possible colours. The third DIY activity consists of scooping crayon bits and pressing them in a mold. The fourth DIY activity consists of doodling with body paint and crayons. The gift shop has a range of products with different price tags so you should have no problem finding items to redeem.
I recommend this place for families with children who understand Mandarin and are aged 4 to 12 years old. Do allocate 2 to 2.5 hours if you would like to cover all 4 DIY activity rooms and visit the gift shop.

Went there in the afternoon and it was pretty crowded, had to wait for 30 minutes before my assigned group was asked to gather and start the activities. Altogether 4 stations and you get to take something back for each station.
They do sell crayon merchandise which you could use your tickets for discount. However, you will not get to use the tickets to loan the costumes for photo taking at the end of the 4 stations. You can choose to pay $100 for 1 piece of costume. Entry is free for children below 3 years.
We spent about 2 hours there.

We were travelling with 5 children ranging from 2~9 and they all enjoyed it! There were 5 DIY's to do (colouring with emboss, DIY markers, 2 DIY crayons, and 1 DIY body tattoo) and the entrance fee included a credit for shopping at their souvenir shop. We've been to the Pencil factory- but if you had to pick one, we would recommend the crayon factory.

Travelled from Taipei down with family as a day trip. Might not be that good an idea as the train ride to and fro takes up quite a bit of time. However, we did spend about 2 hours there to finish the 4 activities.
Tickets cost per head is at 250NT and each ticket allows a rebate of 100NT for purchase of souvenirs and/or rental of costumes for photo taking(at the end of activity 4.
First activity is the windmill making, 2nd activity is marker making, 3rd crayon making and 4th hand and face paint.
I feel that should a family be at Yilan, this could be a location to visit. Else it might not be that worth to travel all the way down.

Since we booked a minus in Yilan for 3D2N, we thought to go for a short trip in Yilan, 1st we went to this Crayon Factory as we have kids in our group.
This is a place where you can experience making your own crayons and markers. The kids are very happy to have their end markers & crayons which they made from scratched.
Recommended for families with kids around 4 years and up.

Little kids and informational tours don't go well together, so you might wonder about the crayon factory. Don't worry. After drawing, coloring, texture rubbing, making pens and crayons, getting their faces and arms painted, painting other people's arms, dressing up as pirates and princesses, and choosing crayons in the gift shop to spend their vouchers in, your kids (and you) will have spent a fun couple of hours without having to learn much about how real crayons are made.

One of the attraction if you are there. They have a long slide (need to pay) and kids will like it.
You can use the discount coupon to offset the things you want to buy.

A place where we get to DIY our own markers and crayon. Ticket is priced at NT$250 each and we can use NT$100 to purchase things from their gift shops, mainly drawing materials, eg crayons, face paintings and markers. There is a fixed timing, we were there and managed to join 10am session, there were 4 DIY stations and the stations are fixed, one after another according to groups. We spent about 2 hours there, including DIY sessions. A must visit place for kids, especially if they love drawing...

The Crayon Factory was fun for the kids, and the ticket price included a 50% portion that could be exchanged for items a the gift shop. The activities were well organised and timed very well such that each activity was completed on time and we moved on to the next station together as a group. Great for a 1hour to 1.5hrs visit. Take note there are fixed start times so it'll be useful to do some research so as not to miss the start time.

Hi there, appreciate if anyone can advise suitability of activities for the age group at this Crayon Factory? - Activities available & age group. Does any activity require pre-booking? I am planning to come on Monday, 18th Dec or Tuesday, 19th Dec. I am travelling in a group of 12 adults & 2 boy toddlers of about 1.5 year old. Thanks!
