Not really interesting

Compared to other “old street” of tourist places, this one is less attractive. The street is short, and there are not enough shops.

Historic railway station the focus
Aug 2017 • Couples
We found a good, cheap restaurant on the street corner near the station.

The street is interesting but the historic railway station steals the show.

Just next to the train station, take a stroll along the street. Try their snacks, stop over at the cafe to enjoy the view while having a drink. Enjoy!

Old street near Sun Moon Lake
Dec 2016 • Family
This place is charming with a small lake. The log factory is OK. Quite a few small stalls sell wood based products. A good place to stroll for an hour or so on a trip to Sun Moon lake, which is about 30 minutes drive away.

The train stop is a nice place to take some photos.

Check out the wood factory!
Apr 2016 • Couples
There's a beautiful wood factory at the train station. It's opposite a pond with interesting structures. Check it out! The factory has a mini exhibition of what the building has been used for and how people treat timber at the place last time. You should also go visit the few historical trains at the train station that had been used to carry timber. I found one that I could climb into the train head to see the drivers' seats, gears etc. My first time, so cool! Oh the wood factory also sells wooden souvenirs. I got a pretty huge wooden chopping board from them (much to my husband's dismay😂). Like I mean how cool it is to get a wooden chopping board as a souvenir from an old timber town, eh! ☺️☺️

A small town with the train station, can spend some time walking around the village. Take the train for a different experience which I don't as I hire a driver for our trip
