Shilin Night market does not only have a wide variety of food, it has other products such as clothes, phone cases/accessories, and souvenirs. It can get confusing, too, as it is very big.

Shilin Nightmarket is a very appropriate place for shoppers and at the same time Chinese food trippers. As early as 4:00 PM, individuals or group could already start walking on the street to look for their interests, from clothes, shoes and sandals, gifts, decors, electronics,...More

There was no shortage of stimulus at the Shilin night market. It was huge. Make a b-line to the underground part where you'll see all sorts of vendors selling dishes with placemats having pictures of each dish with prices clearly labelled. It's a great place...More

Visited the market over the weekend and it sure was busy! Many many food vendors and shops to choose from. Family friendly, clean, safe, and a lot to see! I particularly enjoyed the candy covered strawberries, freshly squeezed orange juice, and the grilled pork kabob...More

Took a taxi from my hotel to visit this busy night market. Many vendors selling variety of stuff and foods. It was quite crowded even though it was week night. Interesting experience.

I'll review this from the perspective of... I didn't go to other night markets in Taipei, and don't consider myself a shopping or foodie kind of traveler. To me, the best things about night markets are that you get to see a staple of Taiwan...More

Plenty of food and hubbub--cheap tourist junk abides--its what a night market is all about, something for every taste-the sights and sounds/hustle and bustle of the Orient. Easy MRT access.

The cashless payment is popular in Mainland China but not in Taiwan, so paying with cash is totally acceptable in Taiwan, including shilin night market.
