With its air of historical heritage, Shuijinjiu (ShueiNanDong, Jingguashi, Jiufen) used to be prosperous and glamorous due to mining. Although its magnificent semblance no longer exists, the peaceful and beautiful atmosphere has persisted. With a wave to the age of the gold rush, one can still see a glimpse of its glorious past through the Golden Waterfall. Gazing at the ShueiNanDong Remains of the 13 Levels, it is like a beautiful palace that was deserted, earning it the name of “Potala Palace of the Mountain Mines”. Probing forward to the mouth of the river is the considerably distinguished Yinyang Sea, with its half gold half bluish green spectacle inspiring countless imaginations of romance. Walking along the streets of the meandering old streets of Jiufen and tasting the various kinds of authentic eateries is the love of tourists. Stepping into the Golden Museum, one can glimpse the historical traces of the mining industry culture, reminiscing of past glories from its museum, living quarters, and shrine remains. The unassuming mountain city of Houtong used to be a mining village. With the call of cat lovers, volunteer groups were established to create a friendly environment for cats and turned Houtong into a cat village for cat lovers.

Bring a towel and a bottle of water along. Breathtaking view of Jiufen and the sea. Not recommended for people with walking difficulty. But I've seen elderly with walking sticks and very young kids going up the trail. A slow hike takes around 40 minutes each way. Better to go early in the morning. Trail could get slippery if it rains.

it is near to jiufen and short hike up (DEPENDING on fitness level). with wonderful beautiful view of surrounding - mountain sea and cities / village. there are about 3/4 shelters however nothing else on the way up. so bring water, prepare to sweat and be under hot sun (if good weather). so worth it, the view!

The whole hike is about a 1.5 hours (up and down) and every step is more exhilarating and beautiful than the next on this man made trail. The views are magnificent and heavenly. There are random benches and look out points along the way, if you want to bring your breakfast or lunch up with you and it’s just breathtaking. We did it early morning and only came across a handful of hikers the whole time. So worth it.

Would recommend for people to go during hike during this period of time as temperatures are cooler. Start around 4.30pm if you want to catch the sunset. The half Mountain View is good enough for those who want not so tiring hike, night view is amazing but bring a torch as light visibility is low making descent down the mountain abit hard.

Keelung Mountain allows great views of the surrounding area, including vistas over the ocean. Be aware that this is a very strenuous walk, and would need good mobility and reasonable fitness to get to the top.

A steep hike on a good path and steps with a very rewarding view. The hike is able to be done by anyone and any fitness levels as there are heaps of places to rest and take in the view on the way up and down. Easy to reach with public transport
This is an absolute must

The shape of the mountain looks like a cage for keeping chicken in traditional Chinese village. In the ancient days, KeeLung, meaning chicken cage was so named. It is the landmark of the Ruifang area. Kee Lung City was also named after this mountain. Visitors may hike up to the peak. There is a good trial leading to the peak. The view is stunning.

Hiking the trail to the peak of Keelung Mountain is one of the best things to do in Jiu Fen, especially if its Old Street is getting too overcrowded. I suggest you do it before the break of dawn for you to get a spectacular view of Jiu Fen town including Shen-ao fishing harbor.
