    Vibrant busy and tasty
From Taipei caught the public bus from town hall to Keelung- about 45 min. Easy to find and navigate. It was very busy, noisy, bustling and the food was varied and very tasty. Did the roasted pork, the fried dumplings and had desert at Sweet desert. Great night out.

    Good street food and ambiance
Great night market with lots of throwing and shooting games. I enjoyed the peanut ice cream and scallion pancakes, as well as an unknown but tasty fruit. The eel was pretty good. There was a karaoke event going on which made the atmosphere fun and lively. Many cute dogs.

    Go on Weekend/Public Holiday
We went on 28 Feb, a public holiday. The place is packed by 4.15pm. Going on a weekend or public holiday give the place an extra buzz, with bigger crowds and more stores, food selection and stores. Better than some night markers in Taipei (no to name them). Must visit when in Keelung.

Taiwan is infamous for its night markets. It's unfortunate that most of them have become so touristy that the quality and flavors have changed. We had heard that this one is one of if not the best in Taiwan. We visited during lunch because it fit our schedule. It was very lively with many different food stalls. It's difficult visiting with a large group since you can't sit together. Also the fun is to be able to try different foods throughout the market. I would say this is better than most night markets I've visited but again, the taste and quality has changed dramatically since I lived here.

Visiting Keelung Miaokou Night Market is the main night activity when visiting Keelung.
When staying at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, it takes about ten minutes to walk here, which saves you the inconvenience of finding a parking space.
The night market is very large
Lots of food and snacks
There are also many clothing and entertainment stalls
Very suitable for the whole family to come together to eat, drink and have fun
The business sandwich, Dingbian file, braised eel soup and bubble ice are all recommended

Loved Keelung Night Market. Very interesting stalls! Great street food. The locals were also very nice. Didn't find many bargains, I think tourists pay top dollar. You have to haggle, but it can be quite draining!!

The Keelung Miaokou Night Market is famous throughout Taiwan for its street food. Wander around and when you see something that looks appealing, just point to it. Keelung is a fishing port, it has lots of great seafood. The Night Market is a fun experience, and it won't break the bank. Taiwanese street food is always tasty.

We went to Miaokou with high expectations of the seafood being a seaside town. We ordered two steamed crab and a stick of two scallops for NTD640. The crab meat was dry and powdery and scallop was tough like cardboard. Before we ordered we were assured they were live crabs freshly steamed. When we confronted the owner she shouted at us and insisted it was the same as other customers. We were obviously being taken for a ride as foreigners. Pls avoid this stall at all cost (first stall on right not long after entering market , see picture enclosed)

Keelung Miaokou Night Market is located on Rensan Road between Ai Si Road and Jijin Road in Northern part of Taiwan. Miaokou means temple entrance.

From Taipei main Station, you can take a TRA train or bus #1813 to Keelung Station and walk straight forward along Zhong Yi road for 5 minutes to Ai Si Road keeping to right side of road among shops. You can also take Kuo Kuang bus 1813 from TMS to Keelung stopping along seafront before long overhead bridge. If you are at Jiufen or Riufang station, you can take bus #788 to stop at seafront before overhead bridge too.

Cross overhead bridge and go down left staircase. Right side staircase will go towards Keelung bus/train station. Keep walking away from bus/train station passing a chinese temple, Harbour View Hotel till you pass Macdonald Café to Ai Si Road. Turn right into Ai Si Road and walk about 50m. You will reach start of night Market. You will see 3 rows of bright yellow lanterns above the stalls.

On left side after some stalls, you will see a opening to entrance of temple. There are also some stalls inside the entrance. You can visit the temple or make use of clean toilets on left side in the temple. On right side are many food and pastries stalls too. Behind the stalls on both sides of road are shops selling shoes, clothings, accessories, cosmetics etc… Beside these stalls at Rensan Road, surrounding roads like Rensi Road, Aier Road and Aisi Road are lined with many shops and cafes. I visited this night market at 1230 hrs on 05 March 2015. It was slightly drizzling and was not crowded. We took lunch at one of the stall selling salted porridge with roasted meat.

To leave Keelung Night market, turn right at junction, walk 50m and turn left. You will see the long overhead bridge in the distance which you had crossed. Walk towards Keelung train station and take a 50 minutes train ride back to TMS or bus #1813 to Taipei Main station..

Worth a visit here. Once you spot rows of yellow lanterns hanging at the streets, there you've found the food street. Food is awesome. Shops to walk around. Tried the famous Wu Ji Crab Thick Soup (吳記螃蟹羹) and Nutritious Sandwich (營養三明治).

It’s a night market with a tremendous amount of food. There isn’t much of shopping available here. The temple in the middle of the night market is quite pleasant for a short browse.

Food on this street is not only at night but also day time. Please visit this food paradise, it is the best in terms of variety, price and taste in Taiwan. The shopping is also reasonable.

Must visit when in Taipei.
