I came to Keelung from Japan! It's not a major city for Japanese people, so I was confused at first because I didn't have much information.

After joining this tour, I learned how to enjoy it, such as what kind of place it is and what the night market is famous for!

When you think of traveling to Taiwan, many people probably imagine shopping and sightseeing at architecture, but they teach you a different way to enjoy it locally (it's more fun to spend your time getting used to the local area rather than spending it lavishly). The booklet they give you lists tourist spots within walking distance.

I went to the park on the mountain and the sea as if I was taking a walk around my neighborhood!

The night view on a rainy day was so clear that it couldn't be compared to what I see in Tokyo.

The local people are always kind to me even though I don't understand Taiwanese.

Keelung is a really nice place, so I hope more Japanese people will come!

I joined a walking tour focusing on the Ghost Month celebrations that Keelung is especially known for. The team and Keelung for a Walk are designing and operating really detailed tours, as well as curating exhibitions and conducting research. If you are looking for guides that really know their stuff, they are a great choice. Thank you!

Mila was our guide for a 3 hour-tour in Keelung. It was a fantastic experience, as Mila gave us precious details of Keelung's history, and an opportunity to meet friendly interesting people along our walk, and speak to them. We warmly recommend her. Thank you Mila, hope to see you again.

We are a group of 9 adults and 5 kids from the Philippines on board the Superstar Virgo which departed from Manila last March 25,2018 and docked at Keelung Port March 28,2018. We were given only 7 hours to go around the area and we decided to contact our former Taipei tour guide and friend, Mila from Keelung.
Mila prepared the itinerary covering 3 nice places to see in Keelung however, when we started the tour, she told me that we might be able to see more than 3 places depending on the available time.
We were so amazed of the Juming Art Museum showcasing the works of an artist named Juming. The kids enjoyed posing with the life size metal/stone made soldiers and the beautiful view of the mountains as well as the cool air. Next we went to Fairy Cave and Budda's Hand cave- so beautiful carvings inside the cave built many many years ago. We also went to see the big Buddha overlooking the port of Keelung. We had a good stir fry lunch-- really an authentic food in Keelung-- a must place to eat!

To sum up our tour--- it was really worthwhile plus we were able to see a beautiful view of Jiufen mountains overlooking the sea!

We did the Keelung temple tour and had an excellent local guide who showed us the hidden places! We learned a lot about all the meanings and rituals thanks to the rich explanations.
I highly recommend the "Keelung for a walk" tours if you want to know what makes Keelung so special in Taïwan :)

Our trip to Taiwan which started in Keelung City was definitely something I will always remember.

Keelung for a walk with Mila, our tour guide, made sure that everything was smooth and organized. She arranged everything including hotel bookings, transportation and was very keen to our needs. Having said that, she even provided us with a free wifi during our travels (my sister in law needed it to communicate with her daughter back home as she got sick while we were on tour).

She even added an extra site to visit since there's just the 4 of us. She brought us to places only locals visit including the Elephant's nose which I truly love. I should say that Taiwan has so much more to offer and showcase as long as you find the right person for the job. Luckily we did!

Our tour included visits to Artisan places, Taoist Temples, Mine Ruins (Copper and gold), Old Streets and towns, Historical places and museums as well as modern architectures such as Taipei 101. Oh! and the food was superb! Local food was very delicious and there were food stalls and restaurants everywhere.

We have immersed ourselves in their architecture, history, culture and art. Obviously, there was a language barrier as none of us spoke mandarin or folkien but thankfully, Mila bridged the gap. May I also include that although most cannot speak English they always take the extra step of making sure that we were on the same page as them. An example was when we got a little lost after we took the metro; we asked the front desk from Party World and she pointed us to the right direction. Tip: always listen to instructions. LOL!

Our driver Mr. Lin was awesome! He was so enthusiastic and very very punctual. He never fails to open the door for us, which was a little awkward as we are not so used to having someone open car doors for us. LOL! But we really did appreciate it! And he always brings drinking water for us in case we get thirsty during the travel.

We just love them both and will definitely recommend them to those who were planning to visit Taiwan.

P.S.
Best place for coffee lovers as cafes are everywhere.
Mountain hikers are welcome too, there were just plenty to explore.
The place are so clean and the people are polite, well disciplined and honest.

Benny is a fantastic guide, he took me around the most famous places in Keelung but also the hidden gems, giving a very in-depth historical background. The best tour you could ever do if you visit Keelung!

A nice tour without which I had never gotten the chance to see the hidden treasures of Keelung. Learned a lot about the city's his, tory, character and unique vibes. My personal favorite's were the cave as well as the fishing port. It was amazing to see how much foreign powers (i.e. Japan) shaped the city of Keelung in Taiwan.

I joined the Keelung tour last winter and it was wonderful. The guide's preparation was complete, to say the least. Mila was very thoughtful to the group needs and was able to explain in detail everything related to the location's history. Her knowledge about the city really make a difference if compared to other tour experiences I have had. Additionally, the tour structure and the places we visited were curated to have a cultural understanding. This means that the tour made the city alive and welcoming. Although Keelung seldom appears on guided tours, this local company demonstrates that their effort will make the city a reference to visitors interested in the life of Taiwanese culture. Please take your time to attend one of their tours. You will not regret. Thanks!
