Our trip to Taiwan which started in Keelung City was definitely something I will always remember.
Keelung for a walk with Mila, our tour guide, made sure that everything was smooth and organized. She arranged everything including hotel bookings, transportation and was very keen to our needs. Having said that, she even provided us with a free wifi during our travels (my sister in law needed it to communicate with her daughter back home as she got sick while we were on tour).
She even added an extra site to visit since there's just the 4 of us. She brought us to places only locals visit including the Elephant's nose which I truly love. I should say that Taiwan has so much more to offer and showcase as long as you find the right person for the job. Luckily we did!
Our tour included visits to Artisan places, Taoist Temples, Mine Ruins (Copper and gold), Old Streets and towns, Historical places and museums as well as modern architectures such as Taipei 101. Oh! and the food was superb! Local food was very delicious and there were food stalls and restaurants everywhere.
We have immersed ourselves in their architecture, history, culture and art. Obviously, there was a language barrier as none of us spoke mandarin or folkien but thankfully, Mila bridged the gap. May I also include that although most cannot speak English they always take the extra step of making sure that we were on the same page as them. An example was when we got a little lost after we took the metro; we asked the front desk from Party World and she pointed us to the right direction. Tip: always listen to instructions. LOL!
Our driver Mr. Lin was awesome! He was so enthusiastic and very very punctual. He never fails to open the door for us, which was a little awkward as we are not so used to having someone open car doors for us. LOL! But we really did appreciate it! And he always brings drinking water for us in case we get thirsty during the travel.
We just love them both and will definitely recommend them to those who were planning to visit Taiwan.
P.S.
Best place for coffee lovers as cafes are everywhere.
Mountain hikers are welcome too, there were just plenty to explore.
The place are so clean and the people are polite, well disciplined and honest.
