I rode my motorcycle with my partner with my friends.we started in Taroko, the landscape of along the road was too pretty to explain how beautiful it was. Wuling's landscape is very spectacular. If you have a chance,I suggest you go to there once, this place won't that you disappoint.

The Wuling Summit commands the most majestic of 360 degree panoramic views of the Central Mountain Ranges.
Jan 2020
In January 2020 my wife and I included a 6 night Wendy Wu private tour of Taiwan as part of our 18 day Asian trip we arranged to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our tour took in Taipei, Taroko Gorge, Sun Moon Lake, Tainan and Kaohsiung.

A most enjoyable travel day was day two of our tour when we departed the Taroko Village Hotel where we stayed overnight, toured the iconic Taroko Gorge and then took Highway 8 – the Central Cross Island Highway on a most exhilarating drive up and down the mountain range to our destination at the Sun Moon Lake. On the way up at the point on the highway 128km from Hualien City we called to view the amazing 3200 year old Bilu Sacred Tree (reviewed separately). The culmination of our mountain climb was the Hehuan Wuling Summit which is being reviewed here. Then on the way down the mountain we made a pleasant call for lunch at the Lumama Restaurant at the CingJing Farm. (also reviewed separately).

Travelling on the Highway to Hehuan Wuling Summit after the visit to the Taroko Gorge on our way to Sun Moon Lake we really appreciated just what an amazing feat the construction of the highway represented. The road was constantly winding as we cut through the Central Mountain Ranges. Our tour driver/guide was superb negotiating the many blind curves, sharp turns, and narrow paths leading through cliffs and mountains. He certainly earned his breaks from such intense driving at the Bilu Tree, the Wuling Summit and the CingJing Farm.

Hehuan Wuling with an altitude of 3275 metres is the highest point in the Taiwanese highway system and sits between the Main Peak and the East Peak. The Summit has cool temperatures due to the high altitude. The summit commands the most majestic of 360 degree panoramic views of the Central Mountain Ranges. There is a small covered seat with a very decorative red roof and basic wooden seating which has a sign which has Chinese lettering and the number 3275 to signify the altitude level. Everyone it seems wants to have their photo taken beside this seat. There is also an information sign directly opposite showing a map indicating where the main mountains in the distance are located including Mt Hehuan East Peak (3461m), Mt Cilai (3560m), Mt Kaluolou (3413m) and Mt Cilaili (3380m). This map demonstrates the magnificence of the mountain vista before our eyes. Wonderful, majestic and awesome are just three words that spring to mind to describe this panoramic experience. Our driver/guide gave us a good 30 minutes here to soak up the incredible scenery which we really appreciated.

Also worth a look at the Summit is another information sign providing insight into the Taroko War which occurred in an eighteen year period from 1898 to 1916 where Japanese occupying forces attacked the Taroko people. The text and illustration plates describing this rather one sided War make for interesting reading.

The road down the mountain to the CingJing Farm was much easier for our driver to negotiate than the climb up yet still provided for some great views of the mountainous country being traversed.

It was wonderful that the route chosen to take us from Taroko Gorge to Sun Moon Lake was via Hehuan Wuling just so we could gain a true appreciation of the wonderful mountainous terrain that Taiwan has to offer. This was indeed a touring day to remember.

Unforgettable scenery
Dec 2019
Me and my friends went there in Dec 2019 through motorcycle, the view along the road were amazing. Be sure to wear enough because the low temperature can freeze your body and apply the sun screen or the sun will burn your skin. When you reach the highest point, you will see a sigh with the word "Wuling". The scenery there is amazing and the beauty of the sun shining on the mountain is unforgettable. Two more things, you can prepare two or three bottles of gas if you rode the motorcycle and pay attention to the trucks along the road.

Highest Highway in Taiwan
Dec 2019
We drove past this highest peak that one can travel by road in Dec.

Its amazing that this peak has been incorporated as part of the highway. We traveled from Hualien to Sun Moon Lake and this peak is en route on the journey from Hualien via Taroko and finally ending up in Sun Moon Lake.

From this peak onwards the journey is pretty much downhill.

There is ample parking provided on one side of the road and on the opposite side there is a staircase and platform built to take it the 360 degree view of the mountains. We were in awe and took many pictures, but nothing can beat the view that is taken in by the eye.

Be warned that the temperature can be cold and it is windy up here. When we were there the temperature was around 7-8 deg Celcius.

Wuling Snow Mountain Peak
Nov 2019 • Friends
Wuling Snow mountain is the 2nd highest peak at Taiwan with elevation of 3275 meters. Really a must to visit for nature lovers.

Had a glimpse of Alps at Germany and I should say that view here is far better.

For Asians, you must visit this place first and good thing you can pay a visit to a nearby Qingjing farm afterwards.

Amazing

I think it really amazing for me because I never been to here. And it's very cold that I couldn't feel my fingers. I went there with my friends in March.I rode motorcycle and it really dangerous if you didn't sleep well last night.Next time I think I will go there by car.But it may stuck in a terrible bumper to bumper.
武嶺是在合歡山上的一個峰,這邊有一個牌子給像我們這樣的觀光客拍照,是一個熱門打卡的點而且這邊不需要爬山,車子停在旁邊就可以走上來了還不錯

Amazing view and experience
Feb 2019 • Family
You will be non stop "wow" once you reach this 3275m above the sea level location. This is the peak and you will see amazing views and non stop photo taking from different angle. Besides, if you are a photographer, this place is best suit you day and night. Night time you can enjoy the stars here according to my tour guide. The sky will be filled with stars which you will never see them in your hometown or city, because it is dark enough to view the stars. Besides, we are lucky enough to experience the snow/ice that left over along the road downward. I would recommend you get a local tour with smaller vehicle such as 7 seaters or 5 seaters vehicle and move you around this area which I think they love to show you around.

wuling - a beauty
Dec 2018 • Couples
We took the trip on a cloudy wet morning. Luckily we didn't try public bus (very cheap) but used Tripool (NT4,500) for the 4hr ride from CingJing to Hualien across Wuling mountains. Luckily for us, a small part of the higher up mountain road clear up and we stop to digest the views.

This place is over 3200m high and it is a worthwhile place to stop over for at least 30 minutes. You could view the numerous mountains peaks in this central mountain ranges. The weather is cold. So be prepared.
