Shan (山) means mountain. He Huan Shan looked daunting but in fact, we had a relaxing walk.

When I visited this point first, I had no clue how cold it would be till my hands started paining. The view is amazing and I was surprised to see water frozen overnight. There were a lot of people trekking to the highest point.

I arrival around 5:30pm, it was wonderful Sunset. And I went to Hehuan Mountain again next day, we start 4:00am, we went to various locations to see the Stars Galaxy, then awaiting the sunrise. If you come to Renai, must do!!
The views from the peak are stunning and there are great historical memorials, some of which commemorate the rebellion of the Taroko Aboriginal peoples against the Japanese colonists in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Hi, the road to Mt Hehuanshan will be dangerous for driver who do not know the terrain well especially when it snow. Made your way up gradually with 3 stops along the way to get your body used to the high altitude. I will recommend you to book a local tour as they have proper procedure and gear to help you cope with the altitude. The plus point is you are in the hand of an experience driver.
