A very traditional, historical catholic church built up in 1860. You can find the old school architecture here. It is closed now but you can still find the holy atmosphere from the exterior decoration. Come and show your respect here.

The cathedral was built in 1800’s, and had beautiful stained glasses, sculptures, and structure. It has an English and a Chinese version of guides about the cathedral you can request. It was very well maintained. A great place to worship or for a visit. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

Besides being a Minor Basilica (1 of the 2 in Formosa), and the oldest catholic church in the island of Taiwan, it is the Kaohsiung Catholic Diocese's cathedral. It is located in Lingya District, very close to the Love (Ai) River and to the Central Park.
It was built more than 150 years ago and its stained glass windows are decorated with roses, as a tribute to Our Lady.
Masses are daily celebrated in Taiwanese, and in Mandarin and English (on Sundays). And visits are daily allowed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Holy Rosary Cathedral, Kaohsiung was established in 1860 and rebuilt in 1928. It is the oldest Catholic church in Taiwan,
The church is considered the most beautiful church in Taiwan. However, to be frankly, it is far less majestic and brilliant than many cathedrals in Europe.

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Kaohsiung city is a quiet getaway. This church is gorgeous and unbelievably quiet. Great place!

The church was pretty quiet when we visited on a Wednesday afternoon. It's architecture was influenced by the Spanish and it was built during the Qing Dynasty.

What you see is what you get.
This place didn't stand out to me, to the point me and my friend actually walked passed the location only to trun back due to google maps.
Had a quick look around the entrance but decided to move on very quickly.

It is a small church but the architecture looks history. The English Sunday mass is at 11 AM. They used LCD monitors to tell what page to rad and what to sing.

Claimed to be the most beautiful church in Kaohsiung, it probably is - especially from outside. Inside, though, it’s quite bleak. Its interior rather reminds one of a Lutheran church, with its dominant greyish colour, and very limited decoration. Travellers used to the luxury of European catholic churches are likely to be quite disappointed, if they expect to find something similar here.

This is one of the more traditional Cathedrals. It is not large but a real fine work of art. Take the time to look around this gem.

Sorry for late response. We walked over from city centre - the cathedral is not far from the Love River, 10 mins walk.
