Definitely a stand out attraction very beautiful and peaceful, stunning for photographs.

Definitely a stand out attraction very beautiful and peaceful, stunning for photographs. It's a very spiritual place you will remember for a long time after visiting as it's very high up in the mountain, but it's definitely worth visiting. Just bring what you need with you though as no shops or drinks or food etc. from memory. Definitely highly recommended, really beautiful.

It is a fantastic place to be for a weekend outing. Full of indegeous stalls, and old goodies, food, and art works.

Beautiful scenery
Jun 2017 • Family
We detoured to Nanzhuang Street and Xiangtian Lake enroute from Taipei to Taichung. And it was a lovely detour. The street is nothing to shout about. But the scenery in the mountains and the lake was simply stunning. There was a lovely little
Museum next to the lake explaining about the history of the place and the culture of the
Aboriginal tribe associated with it. The drive down was rather daunting though with its steep roads and sudden curves. Bring some plums if you get easily car sick.

One-day tour
May 2017 • Friends
We had wanted to book an accommodation for a night but the official minsu was way too expensive. We found an alternative that was cheaper, but it was located on a mountain. It was difficult to transport around as a result, but the owner of the place was really kind and drove us to the Nanzhuang old street and to do a little night tour to take a look at the fireflies near where she stays.

Many stalls were closed when I went on the Thursday evening in early May. The owner mentioned that it could be because it was off-peak season and so the shops either closed early or were not open. The streets were quiet as well, for pretty much the same reason. Loved the scenery as we drove to the old streets nonetheless.

If I were to go there again, I guess I would choose to do a full-day trip during a peak season or weekends where more shops will be open. At the same time, a one-day tour with the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle should be sufficient to cover the main highlights of the town if you don't intend to drive.

Bustling food street with character
Nov 2016 • Family
If you like 九分老街 (jiufen old street), this is a wonderful equivalent. Fruit stalls, grass jelly drinks, local products on sale in a narrow street adds chapter to the place. So are the shophouses nearby, plus cultural performances. The only inconvenience is probably the toilet so arm yourselves with tissues. I will highly recommend those who like shopping and street food to go there.

Natural beauty with Hakka Culture touch
Feb 2016 • Couples
Nanzhuang is great place to visit for natural beauty and Hakka culture exploration. Driving around the country side, a lot of cherry blossoms and some plum flowers on both country roadsides. We also visited our favorite B&B "Olive tree" to have a coffee. It's a great visit, we really enjoyed it a lot. A good tip is driving to Shen San to enjoy more great scenic view. You would also drive by a "natural residents" tribe too.

南庄向天湖 (Nanzhuang Lake on the Mountains)
Dec 2015 • Friends
Yes, a lake ON the mountains. A really interesting natural landscape of a lake perched on a mountain.
It is best visited in Spring/Summer when the flowers are in bloom, though in Summer, a chance the water level might be a bit low if there is lack of rain.

Pretty lovely scenery with various angles to take lovely pictures.
Only accessible by car, or by your tour bus. Do ask your travel agent to include this top.
While it is not exactly jaw-dropping, it is still rather lovely and worth a visit.

Nostalgic old street
Dec 2015 • Family
Nanzhuang old street is a must visit for visitors to Miaoli.
Lots of good food to eat. My all time favourite is the stall selling fried squid/chicken bites at the entrance to the old street. Friendly boss also has another stall further up the street.

Lively & happening Old street!
Jun 2015 • Family
Driving out from the Fairy valley 神仙谷, we chanced upon this Nanzhuang old street. It wasn't in our itinerary but we were glad to make a stop. This was a old street in a small village, but very lively very happening & lots of nice food! the whole feel of this old street is like the Jiufen oldstreet. I also found a Lavender shop here! goes to shop this place must be popular enough for a Lavender shop to be found!
