So Mazu see & do
Apr 2019 • Couples
This Mazu/Guan Ing Buddhist temple was resurrected in 1684 and if you're looking to see some traditional worship rituals mixed with architectural history this is a must. It's my father in-laws favorite temple in Taichung and we are always pleased to visit with him. A lively atmosphere with incense worshippers waving their incense sticks, rows of table offerings of food and fake $(ancestorial relevance), a bevy of lit up Asian style ancestor commomeration barriel cones, fireworks & traditional temple music often can be enjoyed as well. A market sits right behind the temple and some noodle vendors are beside it. Civil center athletic facility 100 m away if you're up for a workout?

Beautifully renovated

On a simple street, Wanhe temple is a beautiful historic monument and national treasure. During our visit, many local people brought offerings and were actively praying. There were a number of separate shrines and each alter was amazingly colourful. Just beautiful!

Lovely temple - more than meets the eye

The temple, down charming, narrow streets, is larger than it seems. It is a Mazu temple that is very colorful, with many rooms. It is a beautiful gem off the beaten path.
