A Dilapidated Park
Jul 2015 • Friends
The Park of Dongyue Fountain, whose water was found by accident during railway construction in the 1990s, is in the proximity of Dongao Train Station. By a 15-minute walk through the Dongyue Tribal Community you will find the park. Although the park is currently made off-limits by the government, swarms of people arrive to get a refreshing dip in the fairly cold water (14-16 degrees Celsius) and to enjoy an afternoon of fun. Except for the only remaining artificial pool, almost everything has been neglected or has fallen disrepair. In addition, garbage left behind by visitors has not been collected for a while. The park is nearly a mess. Hopefully the government could soon work out a plan to preserve and maintain the park that was so invitingly wonderful.

I would give a higher rating if the park were the way it used to be. For now I do not recommend it because of its dilapidated condition. Those who visit Dongao are well advised to visit Fenniaolin Fish Harbor that is located three kilometers away from Dongao Train Station. It takes approximately 50 minutes to arrive on foot.
