We found this place by accident and were utterly delighted with the ambiance and quality. There are three main rooms in which to enjoy good coffee or tea, and in our case, some toast. My husband and I ate in a quiet area with a good array of reading materials, listening to classical music, sitting at a low Japanese table with comfortable seats. The room was decked out Japanese style, with authentic furnishings. A former police station during Japanise colonisation, the building had been in disrepair and was bought by a community association. They offer 'work space' for people to use and when we were there a young man was creating some manga drawings. Promoting local arts and crafts they also have a permanent display of Japanese art (not cheap, I'm afraid but fabulous quality). Local Hakka food on offer - a small range but it is predominantly a coffee shop, not a restaurant.
