Neighborhood: Wugu / Linkou District
Wugu District is suited for outdoor activities. Six hiking trails were planned in the Guanyinshan Natural Scenic Area with their respective features. The entire pass is forestry with the sound of birds and insects. A walk through the trail not only strengthens the body but also soothes the mind. The broad breeze canal is an international standard competition waterway, with athletes often gathering for a race. The Luzhou Embankment pet sports park beside the canal offers a good place for parents and kids to go pet walking. Linkou district encompasses both leisure sport and temple features, with sports parks and golf courses for the exercise savvy to enjoy. There are also tourist factories to experience the heart of an industry and DIY fun. The first Japanese OUTLET PARK in Taiwan, MITSUI OUTLET fully satisfies shopping desires and offers a variety of delicacies.

A resplendent and magnificent temple
Apr 2021
The original temple was established in 1801. It was dedicated to Guanyin (觀音菩薩, Avalokitesvara), which is a branch spirit from Guanyin of the Lungshan Temple at Jin-Jiang county, Fujian province (福建省晉江縣龍山寺).

Longshan Temple at Jinjiang is the ancestral temple of many temples in Taiwan. For example, Bangka Lungshan Temple (at Wanhua, Taipei City), Lukang Longshan Temple, Tainan Longshan Temple, Fengshan Longshan Temple, ......, and this one. They served as temples of worship and gathering places for the Quanzhou (泉州) immigrants.

Like Bangka Lungshan Temple, this temple now worships gods of three religions: Buddhist, Taoist and Ruism (Confucianism).

It was rebuilt in 2000, became a large temple. Though lost the value of being a historical heritage, it really is a resplendent and magnificent temple.

Here, you can appreciate the beauty of Chinese architecture of temple.

Wonderful Exercise Place for a Run with Kids
Jan 2021 • Family
Our 3 and seven year old grandchildren were so interested to look at wall carvings and paintings. They asked so many questions about the characters depicted, which kept my wife busy tell them the stories of these gods and priests.

It is a relaxing temple. Clean and attractive.

Beautiful temple. Incredible!
Jan 2020
This was a really impressive temple full of reverent worshippers, yet photography was okay. It was impressive in design and very well maintained. The people were very nice and (our experience throughout Taiwan). This is NOT a tourist trap, my wife and I appeared to be the only non-locals, but I didn’t feel like I stood out as a tourist. But please be respectful and reverent as this is a place of worship just as a church would be in the USA.

Amazing Temple!
Mar 2019 • Friends
Though it is a bit out of the way from main Taipei, I do believe it is worth the visit, the temple is big and so beautiful! it is surrounded by a park so apart from walking inside the temple and contemplating the beauty, art, and history you can walk around.
There's not much to do in the nearby area, so I would recommend going before lunchtime. But maybe if you go around lunch time you might want to go to the "MITSUI OUTLET PARK Linkou" and if you visit the temple in the afternoon then you can visit the "Linkou night market" and the "Linkou Old Street".
But the temple itself is a must if you like tradition and art.
