Interesting place
Mar 2019 • Solo
A lot of history in it. But only need 20-30 minutes to check it out. Will just give you a crash on history and a brief summary on what there is to see around there. But worth your time to check out.

Little building with exhibits inside
Mar 2019 • Friends
It’s a 3 storey building with exhibits inside.

You get to learn more about the local way of life, like the famed wind lions of Kinmen and its origins.

Nice view from the top.

Thought I got overly crowded when I was there!

The Symbol of Kinmen
Sep 2018 • Friends
It’s the symbol of a Kinmen. Actually, it was used as the mark of China artillery to bombard Kinmen during the very famous 823 artillery war back then. The third floor is kind of memory place for General Hu who was the Commander in Kinmen back then. Somehow, all three deputy Commanders died in the first artillery bombarding. The second floor displayed local religious stuff. Not too much changes for the last 49 years, said one of my friends who served military service here in late ‘70s.

quick stop
Sep 2018 • Solo
Juguang Tower (sort of misleading as it’s only about three stories high) was my first stop which offered a good view of the town and had some displays about the tower’s history. You can get a view of Xiamen from the observation deck but pretty quick stop otherwise.

Observation Deck, Museum, and Interesting Building
May 2016 • Solo
On a clear day you're supposed to be able to see the mainland (Xiamen, Fujian Province) from the rooftop of this building. It was hazy when I was there, but I think I was able to make out faint outlines of high rises. The building also features local history and culture in a sort of museum.

Grand!
Oct 2015 • Family
JuGuang Tower (Ju-Guang mean the Glory of City named Ju) was designed and constructed as a three story traditional Chinese palace/tower in 1952. There were two cannons at the front, symbolizing the military implying. There displayed cultural gallery, documents and materials relating to current and past history of KinMen. “Order of Blue Sky and White Sun”-The highest honor/award given to General Hu Lien (胡璉), the supreme commander of Kinmen Defense Command, was exhibited. In a sunny cloudless day, you can even see mainland from the third floor. The tower had been featured in Taiwan Post Office Stamps and distributed all over the world in 1.72 billins stamps.
