This farm is located on a 120 acre rolling hill land overseeing Henchun Peninsila and the Ocean,About 30 minute walk from the central bus station in the town of Hegchun. We found this place by accident and fell in love with its beauty.
The farm was built 40 years ago as Taiwan's very first organic farm. To us it looks more like a nature park with many easy walk hiking trails leasing to different pleant surprises. At one spot where all the goats were kept, we ran into a colorful male goat that was obviously a refugee and taking a leisurely walk. Upon seeing us, he quickly turned around, jumped and climbed over an over 6 feet high chain fence back to his range. He was indeed performing an unbelievable farm show just before our eyes. Each trail is designated for different point of interest, such as firefly restoration, butterfly observation, bird watching or cicadas listening. There are also small organic farming areas too.
There is a stone hotel building and a restraurant at the front gate. Behind there is a lake with a waterfall over an orchid growing cliff. Even the farm is only 40 years old,but its landscapes have been beautifully designed, including a great variety of mature trees, ponds, on ground stone scultures, pavilions to our visual enjoyment. We particularly like the stone paved tail lined by tall blooming bombax trees. It leads to the farm's highest point, a pavilion with a giant antique bell providing the most breathtaking unobstructed view of the peninsula and the ocean. It is surely the best spot to enjoy the sunse Hengchun is famous for.
The farm's entrance fee is about $200NT, around $6 US dollars. It is free to its hotel guests. The admission includes guided tours 9:30 in the morning, and one at 7:30 at night for firefly discovery and viewing. The tour gides fully explained the farm's mission and vision, their tours are pretty educational and worth attending.

I stayed at this hotel some years ago. It's not like an ordinary Hotel in Kenting. It's not on the main street. It doesn't have the sea view. It's not even in Kenting area. It's located in some 30 minutes away from the busy Kenting streets. However, with the special view and the ecological life there, it's a secret garden that you don't want to miss.

Spent two days at the hotel. Quiet, plenty of space outdoors and a welcome oasis away from the hustle of Kenting, but not too far away to drive. Definitely need your own transportation. Not a lot of English, but enough. Breakfast is pure Taiwanese.
